Pitre, 84, a native of Bayou Lafourche and a resident of Donner, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008.  Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Chacahoula, with burial in the church cemetery.  He is survived by his wife, Cecelia Bourgeois Pitre; one son, Hurley Pitre and wife, Connie; one daughter, Lorena Pitre Arceneaux and husband, Kenneth; three brothers, Joseph, Kermit and Jesse Pitre; six grandchildren, Kent Arceneaux, Heather Comeaux, Travis Pitre, Tabitha English, Jennifer Gauthreaux and Kyle Arceneaux; and six great-grandchildren, Trey and Bryce Comeaux, Chelsey and Emily Gauthreaux, Landon English and Cooper Arceneaux.  He was preceded in death by his parents Wilfred Pitre and Lillian Zeringue Pitre; two sons, Wade and Denver Pitre; four brothers, Shelby, Royce, Andrew and Russell Pitre; and one sister, Lou Bell Pitre Bourgeois.  He was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Church in Chacahoula and was retired from McDermott in 1976 after 31 years.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 till 1946 and was a member of the American Legion Post #354 in Gibson.  Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pitre, 67, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Houma, died at 7:35 a.m. July 18, 2004.  Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial at St Francis de Sales No. 2 cemetery.  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sylvia "MiMi" Matherne Pitre; sons, Brian and his wife, Jennifer; and Bert and his wife, Vickie of Houma; and Bruce Pitre and his wife, Fran, of Jacksonville, Fla; brothers, Joe of Schriever, Russell of Moselle, MS, Kermit of French Settlement, Milfred of Donner, Andrew Waldon of Houma and Jesse Pitre of Thibodaux; sister-in-law, Mrs. Nick (Millie) Pitre of Thibodaux; grandchildren, Brendan, Lea, Jenna Kristen and Bryce Pitre of Houma, and Kathryn, Lauren, Erin and Brandon of Jacksonville; step-grandchildren, Marine Cpl.
