Obituary:  Times Picayune, 14 June 1974:  Wilfred John Pitre, on Wednesday, June 12, 1974 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Hospital in Thibodaux.  Husband of former Lillian Zeringue.  Father of Russell, Kermit, Milfred, Shelby, Andrew, Jesse, Royce and Joseph R. Pitre Sr., and Mrs. Milton Bourgeois.  Also survived by 30 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.  All survivors from Donner area.  Age 79 years.  A native of Lafourche Parish and a resident of Donner at time of death.  Services from the Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux, on Saturday, June 15, at 10 a.m.  Religious services at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Chacahoula.  A retired employee of Southern Pacific Railroad.  Interment in the church cemetery.

Lou Bell Marie PitreLafourche Daily Comet (LA), Monday, 12 June 2000:  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Chacahoula for Lou Bell Marie Pitre Bourgeois, 81, a native of Lafourche Crossing and resident of Houma, who died at 1:15 p.m. June 10, 2000.  Visitation will be  from 9 a.m. until funeral time Monday at the church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  She was the mother of Milton Joseph Bourgeois Jr. of Thibodaux, Malcom Bourgeois of Houma, Peggy Plude of Houma and Louise Borne of Napoleonville; mother-in-law of Mary and Myrtle Bourgeois, George Plude and Morris Borne; and sister of Joseph, Russell, Kermit, Milford, Waldon, Jesse and Royce Pitre.  She is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Joseph Bourgeois Sr.; parents, Wilfred John Pitre and Lillian Marie Zeringue; daughter, Linda Bourgeois; and brother, Shelby Pitre.  She was a homemaker.  Chauvin Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.

Kermit Paul Pitre:  The Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), 21 October 2016:  Kermit Paul 'Pop' Pitre Sr. - A resident of French Settlement he passed away from natural causes at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the age of 94.  Visitation will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 2128 Bull Run Rd, Chacahoula, LA 70395, from 8:30am until memorial service at 11:00am on Saturday, October 22, 2016.  He is survived by his daughters, Yvette Chiasson, Yvonne Robichaux, Juanita Champagne; sons, Kermit, Jr., Kenneth, Keith, and Kirk; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lou Belle Bourgeois; brothers, Joseph, Russell, Milford, Andrew, Shelby, Jesse, and Royce; and sons in law, Raymond Chiasson, Ed Robichaux, and James Champagne.  His hobbies included fishing and dancing.  Arrangements by Church Funeral Services & Crematory, St. Amant.

Pitre, 84, a native of Bayou Lafourche and a resident of Donner, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008.  Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Chacahoula, with burial in the church cemetery.  He is survived by his wife, Cecelia Bourgeois Pitre; one son, Hurley Pitre and wife, Connie; one daughter, Lorena Pitre Arceneaux and husband, Kenneth; three brothers, Joseph, Kermit and Jesse Pitre; six grandchildren, Kent Arceneaux, Heather Comeaux, Travis Pitre, Tabitha English, Jennifer Gauthreaux and Kyle Arceneaux; and six great-grandchildren, Trey and Bryce Comeaux, Chelsey and Emily Gauthreaux, Landon English and Cooper Arceneaux.  He was preceded in death by his parents Wilfred Pitre and Lillian Zeringue Pitre; two sons, Wade and Denver Pitre; four brothers, Shelby, Royce, Andrew and Russell Pitre; and one sister, Lou Bell Pitre Bourgeois.  He was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Church in Chacahoula and was retired from McDermott in 1976 after 31 years.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 till 1946 and was a member of the American Legion Post #354 in Gibson.  Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ray McDermott and Raymond Fabricators of Avondale.  He was a retired U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean War, past worshipful master of Walter I. Lanier Lodge 307 1980 and past master and member of Unity Lodge 267. 

 

Jesse Lawrence Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA):  Jesse Lawrence Pitre, 79, a native of Chacahoula and a resident of Thibodaux, died Saturday, October 25, 2014.  Visitation will be Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at First United Methodist Church in Thibodaux.  Memorial Services will be Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 2:00pm at First United Methodist Church in Thibodaux.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery immediately following the service.  Survived by wife of 47 years, Marrial Morvant Pitre; Sons- William Pitre, Craig Pitre and wife Vanessa, Michael Darden and wife Violeta; Daughters- Stacey Pitre Leger and husband Patrick, Sonya Pitre Ohlmeyer and husband David; Brother- Kermit Pitre; Grandchildren- Jesse Pitre, Heather Pitre, Brennan Pitre, Ryan Pitre, Callie Trahan, Vivienne Darden, Camilla Darden, Derek Leger, Todd Leger, Travis Leger, Kade Barrett, Kamryn Barrett, Koryn Barrett, Owen Ohlmeyer, and Lillian Ohlmeyer; Great Grandchildren- 12; Step-Great-Grandchildren- 5. Preceded in death by parents- Wilfred John and Lillian Zeringue Pitre, Brothers- Joseph, Russell, Milfred, Shelby "Nick", Waldon, and Royce, Sister- Lou Bell Bourgeois.  Jesse was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather.  He bravely fought a year long battle with cancer.  He was someone who never met a stranger.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports, family gatherings, genealogy, and most of all dancing with his beautiful wife of 47 years.  He was a member of the Walter Irving Lanier Lodge No. 307, the Terrebonne Geneological Society, and a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church.  The family would like to express special thanks to family and friends, Amedisys Home Health Service, Haydel Hospice, Dr. Walter Simoneaux of Thibodaux Urology, Dr. Chester Boudreaux of Regional Internal Medicine, Dr. Jonathan Silberstein of Tulane University, and Dr. Geraldo Arias of the Thibodaux Cancer Center.

Pitre, 67, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Houma, died at 7:35 a.m. July 18, 2004.  Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial at St Francis de Sales No. 2 cemetery.  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sylvia "MiMi" Matherne Pitre; sons, Brian and his wife, Jennifer; and Bert and his wife, Vickie of Houma; and Bruce Pitre and his wife, Fran, of Jacksonville, Fla; brothers, Joe of Schriever, Russell of Moselle, MS, Kermit of French Settlement, Milfred of Donner, Andrew Waldon of Houma and Jesse Pitre of Thibodaux; sister-in-law, Mrs. Nick (Millie) Pitre of Thibodaux; grandchildren, Brendan, Lea, Jenna Kristen and Bryce Pitre of Houma, and Kathryn, Lauren, Erin and Brandon of Jacksonville; step-grandchildren, Marine Cpl. Bobby "B.J." Cotton, Ashley Boudreaux and Riley Lirette of Houma; step great-grandchild, Branson Cotton; and numerous nieces and nephews of whom he thought the world.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Lillian Zeringue Pitre; brother, Shelby "Nick" Pitre; and sister, Loubell Pitre Bourgeois.  He was a retired fabrication inspector and was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Walter Irving Lanier Lodge No. 307, past president of the Bayou Cane Fire Department and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
