Obituary: The Daily Comet (Lafourche, LA), May 2014: Mona Thibodaux Pitre, 92, a native of Bayou Blue and resident of Schriever, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014, peacefully with family. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Schriever. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Bridget Catholic Church cemetery in Schriever. She is survived by her children, Joseph Pitre and wife, Cathleen, and Kenneth Pitre and wife, Peggy; sisters, Doris Dugas and Iris Robichaux; grandchildren, Mary Pitre, Cheryl Gagneaux and husband, Milfred Jr., Robert Pitre and wife, Domonique, Christie Foret and husband, Michael, and Mandy Oncale and husband, Lane; and great-grandchildren, Paul Gagneaux, and Emma, Layla, and Ava Pitre. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Pitre Sr.; parents, Walter and Alfreda Samanie Thibodaux; brothers, Alvin, Benson, Reynold, and Felton; and sisters, Lorena Breaux and Mary Ann Thibodaux. She was a homemaker who loved to cook, garden, sew, and cross stitch. She will be greatly missed by her family who loved her so dearly. Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
