Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 5 March 2007: Andrew Waldon Pitre, 78, a native of Lafourche Crossing and resident of Houma, died at 7 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2007. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Masonic services at the Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Colyer Schexneyder Pitre of Houma; one son, Carl Anthony Pitre and his wife, Judy, of Dallas; one daughter, Paula Ann Pitre Hebert and her husband, Sidney, of Chacahoula; two stepdaughters, Judy Beeson and her husband, Tommy, of Houma and Joyce Crochet of Thibodaux; five brothers, Jesse Pitre and Russel John Pitre of Thibodaux, Joseph Reynold Pitre of Schriever, Kermit Paul Pitre of French Settlement and Milfred Luke Pitre of Donner; one grandchild; seven step-grandchildren, 12 step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alberta Marie Sampey Pitre; his parents, Wilfred John Pitre and Lillian Marie Zeringue Pitre; one grandson, Daniel Murphy; two brothers, Royce Joseph Pitre and Shelby Andrew Pitre and one sister, Lou Bell Pitre Bourgeois. He was a retired iron worker with J. Ray McDermott and Raymond Fabricators of Avondale. He was a retired U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean War, past worshipful master of Walter I. Lanier Lodge 307 1980 and past master and member of Unity Lodge 267.

September 23, 1923 - July 08, 2017: Lillian Schexnayder Pitre, 93,
was born September 23, 1923 and departed this life on July 8, 2017.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 9:00AM until service time
at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, July 11,
2017 at Chauvin Funeral Home beginning at 12:00PM with burial to follow services
in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Lillian is survived by one daughter,
Judy Beeson and husband Tommy; one sister, Anna Lee Reynolds and husband
Robert; seven grandchildren, Dwayne Beeson and wife Jennifer, Tammy
Murphy, Troy Beeson, Lisa Berlin, Lana Lawrence, Laura Lawrence, and Lila Moss;
She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren, and three
great-great-grandchildren and her beloved pet Brees. Lillian was preceded
in death by her daughter, Joyce Crochet Schexnayder, her first husband,
Russell Schexnayder and second husband Andrew Pitre; her mother,
Leecy Colyer, her father Herbert Colyer, and four brothers Cecil
Colyer, Curtis Colyer, Johnny Colyer and Denny Colyer, one sister Roberta
Lucille Atwood. Lillian was a joy to her family, a loving mother and
grandmother. “He will remove all of their sorrows, there will be no more
crying or pain. For the old world and its’ evils are gone forever.” Rev. 21:4.
