Obituary: Houma Courier (LA), Tuesday, 11 November 2008: Milfred L. Pitre, 84, a native of Bayou Lafourche and a resident of Donner, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008. Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Chacahoula, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Cecelia Bourgeois Pitre; one son, Hurley Pitre and wife, Connie; one daughter, Lorena Pitre Arceneaux and husband, Kenneth; three brothers, Joseph, Kermit and Jesse Pitre; six grandchildren, Kent Arceneaux, Heather Comeaux, Travis Pitre, Tabitha English, Jennifer Gauthreaux and Kyle Arceneaux; and six great-grandchildren, Trey and Bryce Comeaux, Chelsey and Emily Gauthreaux, Landon English and Cooper Arceneaux. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilfred Pitre and Lillian Zeringue Pitre; two sons, Wade and Denver Pitre; four brothers, Shelby, Royce, Andrew and Russell Pitre; and one sister, Lou Bell Pitre Bourgeois. He was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Church in Chacahoula and was retired from McDermott in 1976 after 31 years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 till 1946 and was a member of the American Legion Post #354 in Gibson. Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary: Cecelia Bourgeois Pitre Oct. 9, 1929 - July 23, 2023: It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Cecelia Bourgeois Pitre of Donner, Louisiana, who passed away on July 23, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Milfred L. Pitre; her parents, Leo Bourgeois and Odile Bourgeois; her sons, Denver Pitre and Wade Pitre; and her siblings, Joseph, Clarence, Percy, Lionel Bourgeois, Roy Boudreaux, Felecie Benoit, Mabel Bourgeois and Bernice Adams. She is survived by her children, Hurley Pitre (Connie) and Lorena Arceneaux (Kenneth); her grandchildren, Kent Arceneaux, Heather Arceneaux Comeaux (Ty), Kyle Arceneaux (Shelly), Jennifer Pitre Rogers, Travis Pitre (Kristi) and Tabitha Pitre English (Jon); her great grandchildren, Trey, Bryce Comeaux, Chelsey, Emily Gautreaux, Cooper, Beau, Easton Arceneaux, Landon and Taylor Pitre; and her great-great-grandchildren, Paislee and Elijah Gauthreaux. A mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, July 27th 2023 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
