Other notes: (from Eugenie's great-grandchild) Another
interesting story is the one of my great grandmother - Eugenie De Lafosse, a
devout Catholic. She and Carmellian had 10 sons, 7 of which were alive at
her death. All 7 had converted to different Protestant religions and on
her deathbed she called for the priest. The sons came in, blew out the
candles and threw the priest out of the house and would not let last rites be
read to her even though she was crying and begging for the priest. Very sad!
