Sent to Monsignor Donat Robichaud (25 January 1977):  Information from Mrs. Octave Pitre, born Alice Aube, 76 years old, Beresford.  Octave Pitre, born February 28, 1902, married 25 Oct 1910 Alice Aube.  Octave was the son of Joe (to Hilarion) Pitre and Monique (to Nil) Godin of Maisonnette.  Joe Pitre had land from the Millstream River to the old guide room.  He had given it to his children: his daughter (Mrs. Stanislas Haché) the land sold for the new church, as well as to José Pitre.  Joe's brother Victor had his land from the 40-rod guide room to the fire station.  Peter Pitre also had 40 rods.  (Mrs.) born in Laplante:

Nicholas Edmond Pitre:  The Reporter Dispatch (White Plains, NY), Wednesday, 21 February 1951:  Armonk - Edmond J. Petre, sixty-two, of Annadale Street, widely known Westchester county contractor and builder and proprietor of the Armonk Woodcraft Shop, Main Street, died unexpectedly last night in a private ambulance en route to Grasslands Hospital.  Mr. Petre had lived in White Plains before moving here 11 years ago.  He was, according to members of his family, the builder of the first house in the Fox Meadow section of Scarsdale.  Mr. Petre constructed many homes in that development and the Gedney Farm section of White Plains.  He also had constructed commercial buildings in New York.  Born Aug. 28, 1888, at Beresford, New Brunswick, Canada, he came to White Plains in 1922.  He was the son of the late Joseph and Helen Ducette Petre.  His marriage to the former Kathleen Murphy, who survives, took place Feb. 17, 1916 in St. Patrick's Cathedral, Halifax, Nova Scotia.  Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Joseph, Allan and Edward Petre, all of the home address; three daughters, Mrs. C. Lindsay McLaughlin of 10 Lawrence Drive, Edgebrook Estates, Greenburgh, Mrs. Thomas Sodaro of Santa Monica, Calif., and Miss Christina Petre of San Francisco, Calif., and one grandson, also a sister and five brothers, all of Canada.

 

Telesphore Pitre:  Patent Trader (Mount Kisco, NY), Thursday, 5 March 1959:  Bristol, Conn. - Thomas Petrie, 64, died February 27 at his home in Bristol.  He was a former resident of Somers, NY.  Besides his wife, he is survived by five children, Thomas Petrie Jr of Bristol, Edward Petrie of Brewster, NY, Mrs. Albert Lavorgna of Southington, Mrs. John Demora of Bristol, Mrs. Lawton Adams and Mrs. Lawrence Schrantz of Somers and 18 grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Monday in Bristol and interment was in Somers, NY.
