Obituary: Charlottetown Guardian (PEI), Friday, 10 May 1929: Death of Mrs. Peters - The death occurred in the Prince County Hospital on May 7th of Mrs. Mary Catherine Peters, widow of the late Mr. Bruno Peters of St. Louis. Her death came as a severe shock to the community, as the deceased was in perfect health up to a week before she entered the hospital, where she was operated on for appendicitis on April 30th, and was doing nicely when pneumonia set in and caused her death. She was a woman of many sterling qualities and will be much missed in the community where she lived for her charity and kindness. There are left to mourn the following children - Mrs. J. J. McDonald, Miss Minnie, Willie and Bennit, all of Providence, R. I.; Wilfred of Waltham, Mass.; John and Frank in New York; Mrs. Howard Doucette, of Tignish; Mrs. J. R. Bernard, of St. Louis; Miss Linna of Charlottetown; Fred, Melvin and Harry at home; to all of whom deep sympathy is extended.

Born in Canada, he came here seven years ago from New Hyde Park, N.Y. He was the owner and operator of Peters Floor Covering and attended St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons, Robert J., Danbury, Conn., and Thomas J., Port Jefferson, N.Y.; a daughter, Susan G. Zooberg, Spring Hill; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville.
