Peter Pitre:  Fitchburg Sentinel, Saturday, 7 May 1949: Gardner: Pierre Pitre, 83, of 3 Coleman street, died at his home last night after a long illness.  He was born in Prince Edward Island, June 10, 1863, and had resided here about a half century.  He was a carpenter previous to his retirement 10 years ago.  He was a member of the Gardner local Carpenter’s union and the Sacred Heart league.  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. George Gagne; two sons, Arthur and Maxime; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grand-children all of this city.  The funeral will be Monday at 8 a.m. in Holy Rosary church with burial in Notre Dame cemetery.  Calling hours at the Bourgeois funeral home will be today and tomorrow from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 o’clock.

 

Joseph Peters:  The Standard Union (Brooklyn, NY), Sunday, 5 May 1918:  Joseph P. Peters died suddenly yesterday at his home, 126 Bergen street.  He was born at Prince Edward Island, Canada, forty-four years ago, and had been a resident of Brooklyn for twenty-eight years.  He is survived by a widow, Mary; one daughter, Elizabeth, and two sons, William and John.  He attended St. Paul's R.C. Church ---rt and Congress streets, where a solemn requiem mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 9 A.M.  Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery under direction of Thomas E. Crowe of 15 Emile street.
