John Pitre:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Thursday, 5 October 1978:  Bathurst - The death of John Pitre, 483 Archibald Street, occurred Tuesday at Chaleur General Hospital after a short illness.  He was 71.  Born in Bathurst, he was a son of the late Alex and Elizabeth (Doucet) Pitre.  During his working years he was a woodsman and a custodian at the former Bathurst College.  He always resided in the Bathurst area and was unmarried.  He is survived by six brothers, Andrew, Clifford, Edmond, Arthur and Albert, all of Bathurst and Ben of Dalhousie; one sister, Mrs. Fred Caissie (Mary), Bathurst as well as many nieces and nephews.  The body is resting at Elhatton's Funeral Home.  Funeral mass will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church to be followed by interment in the parish cemetery, St. Peter Avenue.

 

Arthur Pitre:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Friday, 21 November 1980:  Bathurst - Arthur Pitre, 67, of Middle River died Wednesday at his home.  Born in West Bathurst, he was a son of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Doucet) Pitre.  He was a stationary engineer and until his retirement last May, employed at New Brunswick Community College, Bathurst Campus, on College Street.  He was unmarried.  He is survived by five brothers, Andrew of North Tetagouche, Edmond of South Tetagouche, Benoit of Dalhousie, Clifford and Albert of Bathurst; one sister, Mrs. Wilfred Caissie (Bernadette) of Bathurst and many nieces and nephews.  The body is at Elhatton's Funeral Home.  Funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, followed by interment in the parish cemetery on St. Peter avenue.

 

Joseph Andrew Pitre:  Acadie Nouvelle (NB), 21 November 1994Andre Pitre of North Tetagouche died on Nov. 20, 1994 at the age of 79, husband of Eveline Boudreau, and born in Bathurst to Alexandre Pitre and Elisabeth Doucet.  Three daughters: Fernande (Andre Boudreau) of Robertville, Camilia (Marc Dumaresq) of Nigadoo, and Noella Pitre of Petit Rocher; three sons: Alcide (Norma) and Roger both of Bathurst, Alvin (Gisele) of Robertville; one sister Marie (Fred Caissie) of Bathurst; one brother Ben Pitre of Dalhousie.  Died five brothers: Jean, Edmond, Arthur, Clifford and Albert.  Fiddler.

 

Edmond Pitre:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Monday, 10 November 1986:  Bathurst - Edmond Pitre, 69, of 440 Raymond Ave., Bathurst, died Saturday at Chaleur Regional Hospital after a brief illness.  Born in Bathurst, he was a son of the late Alexandre and Elizabeth (Doucet) Pitre.  A stationary engineer, he worked 39 years with the N.B. Community College in Bathurst, retiring in 1984.  He is survived by his wife, the former Regina Frenette; a son, Raymond of Bathurst; six daughters, Mrs. Michael Smith (Dorina), Mrs. Kevin O'Connell (Patricia), Mrs. Terry Black (Therese), Mrs. Raymond Doucet (Simonne), Mrs. Bernard Poirier (Maria) and Mrs. James Crawford (Louise), all of Bathurst; three brothers, Andre and Clifford, both of Bathurst, and Benoit of Dalhousie; a sister, Mrs. Fred Caissie (Marie) of Bathurst; and 20 grandchildren.  The body is at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.  Funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church at 11 a.m.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.

 

Mary Bernadette Pitre:  Elhatton Funeral Home (Bathurst, NB):  1920 - 2015 (photo) At the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the age of 94, Mrs. Bernadette Caissie, wife of the late Wilfred Caissie, she lived in Tetagouche North.  Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Alexandre Pitre and the late Elizabeth Doucet.  She is survived by five daughters: Stella Hussey (Carl) of Winnipeg, Man., Annette Miller (Garth) of Miramichi, NB, Rita Boudreau (Donald), Louise Power (Bernard), Elise Godin (Reneaud), all three of North Tetagouche, NB.  As well as eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  A sister-in-law, Delphine Pitre.  Seven brothers and four sisters-in-law: Albert, Clifford (Emilia), Benoit (Florence), Andre (Eveline), Edmond (Regina), Jean and Arthur; as well as a grandson Michel preceded her in the grave.  The family would like to thank the staff of the palliative care department of the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst for their very good care.  There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  The funeral will be celebrated on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire Church in Bathurst.  In memory of Bernadette, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.  Funeral arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home, Bathurst.

 

Benoit Pitre:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Friday, 5 May 2000:  Benoit (Benny) Pitre, 1922 - 2000.  Benoit Pitre, formerly of Dalhousie, NB, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, in Moncton, NB, on Tuesday, May 2, 2000.  Born on November 18, 1922, in North Tetagouche, NB.  Husband of the late Florence (Ladouceur) Pitre.  He is survived by Carla Steeves; one sister, Marie Caissie of Bathurst, NB; four sons, Raymond, Joseph, Peter and Charles; three daughters, Suzanne (Gilles) Bernard, Marie (Norbert) Poirier, and Elizabeth Pitre; along with 15 grandchildren.  War veteran and former employee of NBIP Forest Products, Dalhousie, NB, for 36 years.  Benoit was also known for his love of music and was one of the founding members of the radio jazz band "The Starbusters" of Campbellton, NB.  At the family's request, there was no gathering at the funeral home.  A funeral Mass was held at St. John The Baptist Church in Dalhousie, NB, on May 3, at 11:00am.

 

Clifford Pitre:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Saturday, 19 December 1987:  Bathurst - Clifford Pitre, 63, of 255 Hillside Ave., Bathurst died Friday at Chaleur Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness.  Born in Bathurst, he was a son of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Doucet) Pitre.  He was a maintenance employee at Bathurst Community College before retiring in 1984 due to ill health.  He is survived by his wife, the former Emilia Christie; three sons, Albert, Philippe and Francois, all of Bathurst; a daughter, Mrs. Bernard Duguay (Jacinthe) of Bathurst; two brothers, Andre of North Tetagouche and Benoit of Dalhousie; a sister, Mrs. Fred Caissie (Bernadette) of Bathurst.  The body is at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.  Funeral mass will be celebrated Sunday at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Bathurst at 4 p.m.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.

 

Joseph Albert Pitre:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Tuesday, 14 February 1984:  Bathurst - Albert Pitre, 56, died Saturday at his residence at 483 Archibald St. here.  Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Doucet) Pitre.  He was a custodian at Holy Family School for the past 13 years and was a musician in his own orchestra.  He is survived by his wife, the former Delphine Bribeau; four sons, Robert, Denis, Donald and Daniel, all at home; four brothers, Andre J., Edmond and Clifford, all of Bathurst, and Benoit, Dalhousie and one sister, Mrs. Fred Caissie (Bernadette), Bathurst.  The body is at Elhatton's Funeral Home.  Funeral mass will be celebrated today at 2 p.m. from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church.  Entombment will be in the parish cemetery vault.
