Obituary:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Friday, 5 May 2000:  Benoit (Benny) Pitre, 1922 - 2000.  Benoit Pitre, formerly of Dalhousie, NB, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, in Moncton, NB, on Tuesday, May 2, 2000.  Born on November 18, 1922, in North Tetagouche, NB.  Husband of the late Florence (Ladouceur) Pitre.  He is survived by Carla Steeves; one sister, Marie Caissie of Bathurst, NB; four sons, Raymond, Joseph, Peter and Charles; three daughters, Suzanne (Gilles) Bernard, Marie (Norbert) Poirier, and Elizabeth Pitre; along with 15 grandchildren.  War veteran and former employee of NBIP Forest Products, Dalhousie, NB, for 36 years.  Benoit was also known for his love of music and was one of the founding members of the radio jazz band "The Starbusters" of Campbellton, NB.  At the family's request, there was no gathering at the funeral home.  A funeral Mass was held at St. John The Baptist Church in Dalhousie, NB, on May 3, at 11:00am.

Obituary:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Tuesday, 5 January 1988:  Dalhousie - Mrs. Florence Pitre, 65, wife of Benoit Pitre of Dalhousie died Sunday at St. Joseph Hospital, Dalhousie.  Born in Calumet Island, Que., she was a daughter of the late Hector and Edwidge (Gauthier) Ladouceur.  She was a veteran of the Second World War.  Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Gilles Bernard (Suzanne) of Balmoral, Mrs. Norbert Poirier (Marie) and Elizabeth Pitre, both of Dalhousie; four sons, Joseph, Raymond, Peter and Charlie, all of Dalhousie; two sisters, Annette Ladouceur and Mrs. Jeannine LaBrash, both of Timmins, Ont.; 10 grandchildren.  The body is at Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.  Funeral service will be celebrated Tuesday at St. Jean Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Dalhousie at 2 p.m.  Burial will be in St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dalhousie in the spring.

Joseph Andrew Pitre:  The Tribune (Campbellton, NB), Wednesday, 1 September 2004:  The death of Joseph Andrew Pitre of Dalhousie Junction occurred at the Bathurst Regional Hospital on August 24, 2004, at the age of 51.  Born in Dalhousie on June 9, 1953, he was the son of the late Benoit Pitre and the late Florence LaDouceur.  Joseph worked at the paper mill as head computer operator.  He is survived by his wife Jessica LeTourneau of Dalhousie Junction; children Yan (Jennifer) Doucet of Dalhousie, Daniel Pitre of Dalhousie, Melanie LeTourneau of Eel River Crossing and Joey LeTourneau of Balmoral; sisters Suzanne (Gilles) Bernard of Balmoral, Marie (Norbert) Poirier of Balmoral and Elizabeth Pitre of Ottawa; brothers Raymond Pitre of Dalhousie, Pierre (Charlotte Smith) Pitre of Moncton and Charles (Saphira Coutts) of Kamloops, B.C.; granddaughter Alyssa Doucet and several nieces and nephews.  Joseph was predeceased by his parents Benoit and Florence.  The funeral was held from St. John Baptist Church in Dalhousie on Friday, August 27, 2004, officiated by Father Audet with burial in the parish cemetery.  Pallbearers were Yan Doucet, Daniel Pitre, Pierre Pitre, Joey LeTourneau, Jean-Pierre Poirier and Ghislain Poirier.  Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dignity Memorial, Dalhousie.
