Louis Pitre:  Ironwood Daily Globe (MI), Tuesday, 24 August 1937:  Aged Logger Dies - Munising - Louis Peters, 78, died at his home at 215 West Onota street Friday morning.  He was born April 3, 1869 (sic 1859), in Alfred, Ontario, and came to Munising in 1900.  He was long associated with the logging operations in the county with the T.H. Wooster company, Standard Tie company, and Munising Paper company in timber production.  Mr. Peters was a member of the Odd Fellows and the Elks lodges.  He is survived by his wife, Sarah Catherine, a daughter, Mrs. Minnie Peck, and three brothers, Frank of Detroit, Adolph of Sudbury, Ontario, and Gedeon of Ludington and six sisters in Ontario.

Gedeon Pitre:  The Muskegon Chronicle (Muskegon, MI), Friday, 25 February 1955:  Gideon Peters, of Ludington, dies at 94:  Ludington, Feb. 25 - Gideon Peters, 94, of 405 E. Dowland street, died this morning at his home after a lingering illness.  Mr. Peters was born April 15, 1860 in Alfred, Ont., and came here 65 years ago.  He was a retired harness maker, retiring 35 years ago.  He was married to his wife, Harthismise, in 1899 in Ontario.  He was a member of St. Simon's Church.  Survivors, in addition to his wife, include six sons, Louis and Phillip of Saginaw, Frank and Lawrence of Ludington, Leo of Munising and Roy of Grand Rapids, and one daughter, Mrs. William Miller of Ludington.  Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m. at St. Simon's Church.  Burial will be in Pere Marquette Cemetery.  The Rosary will be said Sunday at 8 p.m. at the Butler Funeral Home.

Francois Pitre:  Ludington Daily News, Tuesday, 23 April 1940:  Frank Peters dies at Detroit April 22 - Word has been received by Gideon Peters, 405 East Dowland street of the death of Frank Peters of Detroit, former resident of Ludington.  Mr. Peters, 63 years of age, passed away on April 22 at Detroit.  Mr. Peters was born in Alfred, Ontario, Canada, where he spent his youth before coming to Ludington to make his home.  He was affiliated with St. Simon's Roman Catholic church of this city.  The body will be returned to Ludington and will rest at Morrison chapel until the time of the services, Thursday, at 9 o'clock in the morning, at St. Simon's church.  Interment will be made in Pere Marquette cemetery.

Ludington Daily News, Thursday, 25 April 1940:  Rites are held for Frank Peters - Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock this morning at St. Simon's Catholic church for Frank V. Peters, resident of Ludington for 30 years, who passed away on April 22 in Detroit.  The service was conducted by Rev. Thomas Albin, pastor of the church.  Pallbearers were George Ackersville, Andrew Murphy, John Gavan, Joseph Mark, Joseph Zinsmeister and John Cronin.  Interment was made in Pere Marquette cemetery.  The many beautiful floral pieces and Mass cards were a token of the esteem in which Mr. Peters was held by his friends.  A large number of local and out-of-town friends attended the services.  Out-of-town persons present were Mrs. Martin Tholen of Flint, Mrs. Richard Thomas and Mrs. Leon Lord of Detroit, all daughters of Mr. Peters, and Mr. Tholen and Mr. Lord; Frank Peters Jr. of Detroit, son of the deceased; Mrs. M. Miller of Muskegon, a niece, and Miss Dorothy McIntyre of Flint, a granddaughter.  Six other grandchildren were unable to be present.
