Misc:  The Lafourche Comet (Thibodaux, LA):  Thursday, 20 January 1898:  Mr. L.P. Pitre, who was formerly in the butcher business, has opened up a grocery store on Jackson street.

Obituary:  State Times Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Monday, 8 February 1937 - Louis Philip Pitre - Plaquemine, La., Feb. 8 - Burial of Louis Philip Pitre, who died Wednesday morning at his home in Addis, following a short illness of pneumonia, was conducted in Thibodaux Thursday.  Services were conducted at the Brusly Catholic church, with the funeral cortege proceeding to Thibodaux.  Mr. Pitre was a native of Thibodaux, but had resided in Addis for a number of years.  He had been engaged in the meat business but had retired several years ago.  He was 76 years of age.  He is survived by a widow and seven children.

Obituary:  Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Saturday, 1 February 1941 - Plaquemine, Jan. 31 - Mrs. Marie Picou Pitre, 74, died at 8 a.m. yesterday at her home in Addis, following an illness of two weeks.  Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at St. Joseph's church in Thibodaux with interment in the church cemetery.  A resident of Addis for the past 40 years, Mrs. Pitre is survived by five sons, Ferdinand of Addis, Eugene, Raymond, Albert and Norman, all of Alexandria; two daughters, Mrs. J.W. Farbar of Florida, and Mrs. Ernest Foret of Addis; two sisters, Mrs. C. Lamoureux of Thibodaux and Miss Emily Picou of New Orleans; two brothers, H.P. Picou of New Orleans and Xavier Picou of Thibodaux; 25 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

W. Tarver; three sons, Lewis J., Baton Rouge; John, Baton Rouge; Claude P., Leesburg, Fla.; two step-sons, Frank, Fort Worth, Tex.; Charles, Palatka, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. John Barrentine, Palatka; Miss Estella Tarver, Baton Rouge; and eight grandchildren.  Body will rest at Hollabaugh-Seale parlors.  Services to be held at chapel of Hollabaugh-Seale Funeral Home, today at 4 p.m., conducted by the Rev. T. D. Sumrall.  Interment at Roselawn Memorial Park.

 

Francis Adam Pitre:  Weekly Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Saturday, 30 October 1937:  Pitre - At the United States Veterans Administration Facility, Alexandria, La., at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 1937, F. A. Pitre, aged 43 years and 12 days, of Alexandria.  Deceased is survived by his wife, and one son, Bobbie Pitre, Alexandria; his mother, Mrs. L. T. Pitre, Addis, La.; five brothers, Ferdinand and Norman Pitre, Addis; Albert, Eugene and Raymond Pitre, Alexandria; two sisters, Mrs. Celine Foret, Addis, and Mrs. J. W. Tarver, Palatka, Florida.  Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Oct. 25, the procession leaving the Kramer Funeral Home at 4 o'clock going to St. Francis Xavier's Cathedral.  Interment followed in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville, La., under the direction of the Kramer Funeral Home.

 

Marie Celine Pitre:  Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Saturday, 20 July 1957:  Mrs. Ernest Foret - Died at 5 a.m., July 19, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. A.J. Tullier, Beaumont, Tex.  A native of Thibodaux, she was 62.  Survived by her husband, Ernest Foret; three sons, Leroy, Addis; J.D. and Lloyd Foret, both of Beaumont; three daughters, Mrs. A.J. Tullier, Beaumont, Tex.; Mrs. Milton Hebert, Addis and Mrs. Charles L. Taylor, Port Allen; three brothers, R.C. Pitre, Alexandria; Albert Pitre, New Orleans; and Ferdinand Pitre, Addis; 30 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was a member of St. John's Altar Society.  Body to rest at Wilbert's Funeral Home in Plaquemine until 3:30 p.m. Saturday.  Religious services will be held at 4 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly.  Interment in the Church cemetery.

 

Gustave Ferdinand Pitre:  Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Sunday, 26 October 1958:  Ferdinana M. Pitre (Pete) - Died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday in the Plaquemine Sanitarium at age 61.  He was a native of Thibodaux and a residence at death of Addis.  Religious services will be held at St. John the Baptist Church in Brusly at 3 p.m. Sunday, with arrangements in charge of Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  He is survived by one son, Roland A., of New Orleans; four daughters, Mrs. W.L. Cutrer, Harvey, Mrs. Joe Haynes, Plaquemine, Mrs. Gordon Gisler, Tacoma, Wash., and Miss Alice Faye Pitre, Addis; 2 brothers, R.C. Pitre, Alexandria, and George A. Pitre, New Orleans; 14 grandchildren.  He was the husband of the former Julia Ruiz, Addis, and the father of the late F.M. Pitre Jr., Addis.

 

Eugene Norbert Pitre:  The Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Friday, 19 October 1951:  Eugene Norbert Pitre, 52, of 728 St. Ann street, Alexandria, died at 1:50 a.m. today, Oct. 19, 1951 in his residence.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Viola Pitre of Alexandria, one son, Louis Pitre of New Orleans, three daughters, Mrs. Louise Saxton of New Orleans, and Misses Velma Jean and Arelene Pitre, both of Alexandria, four brothers, Albert Pitre of New Orleans, Ferdinand Pitre of Addis, Raymond and Norman Pitre, both of Alexandria, two sisters, Mrs. J. W. Tarver of Baton Rouge, and Mrs. J. E. Foret of Addis, and four grandchildren.  The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 1951 in the Kramer Funeral home chapel.  Interment will be in the New Hope cemetery near Calcasieu.

Raymond Camille Pitre:  The Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Tuesday, 3 December 1968:  Raymond Camille Pitre, 67, of Alexandria died at 2:30 a.m. Monday.  He was a retired railroad conductor.  Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary Pitre of Alexandria; two sons, Carlos R. Pitre of Alexandria and Raymond Pitre Jr. of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Mrs. Frances Marie Roberts and Mrs. Ethel Fay Wells of Alexandria, and Miss Annabelle Pitre; one brother, G. A. Pitre of New Orleans, and 10 grandchildren.  Funeral services were to be held at 3 p.m. today in St. Francis Xavier Cathedral.  Burial was to be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens under the direction of Frist National Funeral Home.
