Obituary:  The Duluth News Tribune (Duluth, MN), Saturday, 8 April 1961:  Joseph Peters, 89, of 11 N. 9th St., Cloquet, died Thursday in Cloquet Memorial Hospital.  He is survived by four sons, Albert, Floyd and Frederick, all of Cloquet, and Walter, Duluth; four daughters, Mrs. Ray Shea and Mrs. William Ervin, both of Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. John Margiett, Pennville, Ind., and Mrs. Edward Ervin, Klammath Falls, Ore.; 25 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Arrangements are by Barr Brothers Funeral Home.

Crook, 99, Cloquet, died Thursday in the Carlton nursing home.  She had been a Cloquet resident since 1909.  Surviving are three sons, Albert and Frederick Peters, both of Cloquet, and Walter Peters of Proctor; four daughters, Alice Morgrette of Moose Lake, Margarette Shea and Stella Ervin, both of Spokane, Wash., and Lucille (Edwin) Ervin of Portland, Ore.; 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Barr Brothers Funeral Home, Cloquet.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Peters, 76, of 1305 Ave. F, Cloquet, died Wednesday in Community Memorial Hospital.  He was a lifelong Cloquet resident.  He is survived by his wife, Tyna; a daughter, Estelle West of Esko; a son, Robert of Cloquet; four sisters, Alice Morgrett of Moose Lake, Margaret Shea and Stella Ervin of Spokane, Wash., and Lucille Ervin of Oregon; two brothers, Walter of Proctor and Frederick of Cloquet; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. to day in the Barr Brothers' Funeral Home, Cloquet.

 

Mary Brovethe 'Stella' Peters:  The Spokesman Review (Spokane, WA), Wednesday, 19 April 2000:  Memorial service for Stella P. Ervin, 91, was at Monday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.  Inurnment was at Holy Cross Cemetery.  Mrs. Ervin, a 59-year Spokane resident, died Friday.  She was born in Colquett, Minn.  She was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church.  Her husband of 46 years, Bernard, died in 1972.  Survivors include a son, Michael Ervin of Spokane; a brother, Walter Peters of Duluth, Minn.; a sister Lucille Ervin of Portland; six grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great grandchildren.

Alice Jean Peters:  Duluth News Tribune (MN), Sunday, 2 June 2002:  Alice J. Morgrette age 92 of Cloquet, was called home on May 31, 2002.  Born on May 2, 1910 to Joseph and Helen (Young) Peters.  Alice enjoyed a full life and traveling around the country with her husband.  Preceded in death by her parents and her brothers and sisters Walt, Al, Bill, Floyd, Freddy, Stella, Margaret and Lucille.  Survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.  Visitation: Family will receive friends on Wednesday June 5, 2002, from noon until the 1 PM Memorial Service in Barr Brothers Handevidt Funeral Home, Cloquet.  A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the service in Funeral Home reception room.  Private interment in Maple Grove Cemetery.  Arrangements with Barr Brothers-Handevidt Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

 

Walter Peters:  Duluth News Tribune (MN), 22 November 2000:  Walter Peters, 88, of Proctor passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, in St. Mary's Medical Center.  He was born in Cloquet to Joseph and Helen Peters.  He was a pipefitter and a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 11.  He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and more recently enjoyed painting.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Terrance; and several brothers and sisters.  Walter is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rose; daughters Mary Brice and Sue Beecher, both of Seattle and Maureen (Ron) Crews of Orlando, Fla.; sons Gary (Loretta) of Clovis, Calif., Timothy (Nellie) of Duluth, Philip (Sue) of Rockridge, Minn., Kevin (Kim) of Ada, Minn., Tom (Laurie) of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Richard, Anthony and David, all of Duluth; sisters Alice and Lucille; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass Friday in St. James Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father John Golobich officiating.  Burial in Calvary Cemetery.  Arrangements by Bell Brothers Funeral Directors-Bell Brothers Chapel, 601 N. 56th Ave. W.

Lucille Helen PetersThe Oregonian (Portland, OR), Wednesday, 25 April 2001:  A memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001, in St. Matthew Catholic Church in Hillsboro for Lucille Helen Ervin, who died April 12 at age 85.  Mrs. Ervin was born Lucille Peters on Jan. 21, 1916, in Cloquet, Minn.  She was a homemaker.  She moved in 1989 to Beaverton.  In 1935, she married Edgar P. Ervin, he died in 1996.  Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Milani and Maureen Jones, sister, Alice Morgette; and two grandchildren.  Remembrances to the American Diabetes Association.  Arrangements by Pegg, Paxson & Springer.

 

Frederick Peters:  The Duluth News Tribune (Duluth, MN), Tuesday, 30 September 1986:  Frederick Peters, 69, Cloquet, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 1986, in his home.  He was born in Cloquet where he attended Sacred Heart Catholic School.  He served with the Army's 125th Infantry Division in Europe during World War II.  He had worked at Kortie Hardware in Cloquet for several years.  He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Hebert-Kennedy Post 3979 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Carl Anderson Post 262 of the American Legion.  His wife, Olga, died in 1981.  Surviving are a brother, Walter of Proctor, and four sisters, Margaret Shea and Stella Ervin of Spokane, Wash., Lucille Ervin of Cornelious, Ore., and Alice Morgrette of Sturgeon Lake.  There will be no visitation.  Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Barr Brothers' Funeral Home, Cloquet, with flag presentation by the Cloquet VFW and Legion posts.  Cremation will occur at Northern Minnesota Cremation Service, Virginia.
