Obituary: Duluth News Tribune (MN), 22 November 2000: Walter Peters, 88, of Proctor passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, in St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born in Cloquet to Joseph and Helen Peters. He was a pipefitter and a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 11. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and more recently enjoyed painting. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Terrance; and several brothers and sisters. Walter is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rose; daughters Mary Brice and Sue Beecher, both of Seattle and Maureen (Ron) Crews of Orlando, Fla.; sons Gary (Loretta) of Clovis, Calif., Timothy (Nellie) of Duluth, Philip (Sue) of Rockridge, Minn., Kevin (Kim) of Ada, Minn., Tom (Laurie) of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Richard, Anthony and David, all of Duluth; sisters Alice and Lucille; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass Friday in St. James Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father John Golobich officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Peters, 87, formerly of North 59th Ave West and Railview Apartments in Proctor, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003 in Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Brookston, Minn to Frank and Blanche McMahon. Rose was one of the original founders of the Head Start Program in Duluth and when she retired, she received high recognition from the governor of Minnesota. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church where she was involved in many activities. Rose was a glow of light and love and will be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Terrance, her husband, Walter and a sister, Doris Colacino. She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Gayle Brice and Sue Beecher, both of Seattle and Maureen (Ron) Crews of Orlando, Fla; eight sons, Gary (Loretta) of Clovis,Calif, Timothy (Nellie) of Duluth, Philip (Sue) of Buffalo, Minn, Kevin (Kim) of Ada, Minn, Tom (Laurie) of Brooklyn Park, Minn, Richard, Anthony and David all of Duluth; four sisters, Virginia (Edward) Pierce of Ariz., Bernice Byram of Arlington, Va., Joanne McMahon, M.M. of Micronesia, Kathleen (Joseph) McNamara of Duluth; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sue Ann Peters: The Duluth News Tribune (Duluth, MN), Sunday, 2 March 2014: (photo) Sue. A. (Peters) Beecher, 68, passed away Feb. 14, 2014, in Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Fla., due to complications from type 1 adult onset brittle diabetes. Sue 'Suzy' was born Feb. 11, 1946, to Walt and Rose Peters of Duluth. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and worked with the Title 1 classes at Irving Elementary. Her hobbies included jogging, gardening, reading and writing. She was self-less and nurturing, a firm foundation for her family and siblings. Entertaining and helping others brought her joy. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Gayle; and brothers Terry, Anthony and David. Sue is survived by her son, Todd Pietrowski; daughters, Jodie and Julie Pietrowski; seven grandchildren; sister Maureen Crews; and brothers Gary, Timothy, Philip, Kevin, Tom and Richard. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Duluth.

Tony was born in Duluth to Walter and Rose (McMahon) Peters. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially biking, running, and fishing. Tony loved life and simple things. He was very down to earth. Tony had a heart of gold and was a friend to anyone who needed his help. He is preceded in death by his parents and an older brother, Terrance. Tony is survived by his daughter, Jackie Peters, Virginia, Minn.; three grandchildren; sisters, Mary Gayle Brice and Sue Beecher, both of Seattle, Wash., Maureen (Ron) Crews, Mulberry, Fla.; brothers, Gary (Loretta), Clovis, Calif., Timothy (Nellie), Proctor, Philip (Sue), Buffalo, Minn., Tom (Laurie), Blaine, Minn., Richard, Duluth, and David, Minneapolis. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 in St. James Catholic Church.
