Obituary:  Duluth News Tribune (MN), 22 November 2000:  Walter Peters, 88, of Proctor passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, in St. Mary's Medical Center.  He was born in Cloquet to Joseph and Helen Peters.  He was a pipefitter and a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 11.  He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and more recently enjoyed painting.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Terrance; and several brothers and sisters.  Walter is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rose; daughters Mary Brice and Sue Beecher, both of Seattle and Maureen (Ron) Crews of Orlando, Fla.; sons Gary (Loretta) of Clovis, Calif., Timothy (Nellie) of Duluth, Philip (Sue) of Rockridge, Minn., Kevin (Kim) of Ada, Minn., Tom (Laurie) of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Richard, Anthony and David, all of Duluth; sisters Alice and Lucille; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Visitation: 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass Friday in St. James Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father John Golobich officiating.  Burial in Calvary Cemetery.  Arrangements by Bell Brothers Funeral Directors-Bell Brothers Chapel, 601 N. 56th Ave. W.

Obituary:  Duluth News Tribune (MN), Wednesday, 8 October 2003:  Rose L. Peters, 87, formerly of North 59th Ave West and Railview Apartments in Proctor, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003 in Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born in Brookston, Minn to Frank and Blanche McMahon.  Rose was one of the original founders of the Head Start Program in Duluth and when she retired, she received high recognition from the governor of Minnesota.  She was a member of St. James Catholic Church where she was involved in many activities.  Rose was a glow of light and love and will be missed.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Terrance, her husband, Walter and a sister, Doris Colacino.  She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Gayle Brice and Sue Beecher, both of Seattle and Maureen (Ron) Crews of Orlando, Fla; eight sons, Gary (Loretta) of Clovis,Calif, Timothy (Nellie) of Duluth, Philip (Sue) of Buffalo, Minn, Kevin (Kim) of Ada, Minn, Tom (Laurie) of Brooklyn Park, Minn, Richard, Anthony and David all of Duluth; four sisters, Virginia (Edward) Pierce of Ariz., Bernice Byram of Arlington, Va., Joanne McMahon, M.M. of Micronesia, Kathleen (Joseph) McNamara of Duluth; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The family would like to thank Chris Jensen for all their love and care.  Visitation: 12 noon until the 1 p.m. Funeral Mass Thursday in St. James Catholic Church.  Rev Fr Charles Flynn officiating.  Burial in Sunrise Memorial Park.  Arrangements by Bell Brothers Funeral and Cremation Services-Bell Brothers Chapel.
