Obituary:  Duluth News Tribune (MN), 1 April 2005:  Tyna M. Peters, age 95, of Cloquet, died Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Sunnyside Health Care.  She was born June 3, 1909 in Cloquet to John and Hilma (Pistol) Sipola.  She worked as a cook for the Northeastern Hotel and also for Joe's Bar in Cloquet.  Tyna was a lifelong Cloquet resident and loved fishing.  She was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 1274 and the Hebert-Kennedy VFW Post 3979 Auxiliary.  Tyna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Peters; her daughter, Estelle West; one granddaughter, Diane Mitchell; three grandsons, James, Michael and Steven Peters; three brothers, Eino, Emil and Eddie Sipola; and two sisters, Hilma Swanson and Lillian Sipola.  She is survived by one son, Robert (Donna) Peters of Cloquet; one brother, Arthur ``Dick'' Sipola of Superior; one grandson, Gregory Peters; three great-granddaughters, Kamee (Brian) Carlson, Kari (Paul) Larson, and Kristin (Todd) Bowman; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.  Visitation:10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2005 until the 11 a.m. memorial service in Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet with Chaplain Rosemary Tobin officiating.  Inurnment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in the spring.

 

Obituaries for the children:

Robert James Peters:  Robert “Bob” James Peters, 88 of Cloquet, MN died on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton.  He was born on November 26, 1932 to Albert and Tyna (Sipola) Peters in Cloquet.  Bob married Donna Fagre on June 28, 1952 in Cloquet. He was a US Army veteran serving from 1953-1955.  Bob returned home and was employed as a journeyman pipefitter for Johnson Controls for 36˝ years.  He was a member of the Carl Anderson American Legion Post 262, the Hebert-Kennedy VFW Post 3979, and the Eagles Club in Cloquet.  Bob was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting, playing cards, bowling, and dancing with his wife.  Bob’s passion was fishing walleyes, he would go fishing every weekend until his health did not allow it anymore.  To all of Bob’s fishing friends, “Next time you catch a nice walleye - tip your hat in memory of him.”  Bob was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Estelle West; and his sons, James, Michael, and Steven.  He is survived by his wife, Donna and his son, Gregory.  No public services will be held at Bob’s request.  He will be placed in the Maple Grove Cemetery Columbarium in Cloquet in the spring with Military Honors accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard.
