Obituaries for the children:

Joseph Peat:  Plattsburgh Daily Press (NY), Saturday, 17 May 1941, Mooers Forks: May 16 - The funeral services for the late Joseph Peet, 65, who passed away at the C. V. hospital in Plattsburgh, Saturday, were held from Ste. Ann's church, Tuesday morning at 9:30.  Rev. A. M. Gilbert officiated at the high Mass of requiem.  Pallbearers were Henry Valley, Elphige Suparneau, John Trombly, Joseph Arthur and Mose Rabideau.  Interment was in the family plot in Ste. Ann's cemetery. Mrs. Laura LeDuc sang "Face to Face" at the recessional.  Rev. Father Brault of St. Mary's church of Champlain, was present at the service; also two Reverend Sisters from St. Mary's Academy and several pupils of that school.  He is survived by his widow and eight children by a former marriage.  The daughters and their families of East Hampton, Mass., and New York City were present for the funeral.

 

William Peat:  The Farmington Valley Herald (CT), Thursday, 19 July 1951:  William Peterson of Granby died at Hartford Hospital Thursday, July 12.  Mr. Peterson is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Elberta Chatfield of Granby; four sons, Lawrence R. Peterson of Hazardville, Henry E. Peterson of Bloomfield, Fred J. Peterson of Hartford, and William L. Peterson of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Miller of Morris, N.Y., Mrs. Elizabeth Seymour of Stonington; one brother Peter Peterson of Holyoke, Mass.; and four grandchildren.  Funeral services were held from Charles H. Vincent and Sons Funeral Home, Simsbury, with requiem mass at St. Bernard's Church, Tariffville, Monday, July 17.  Burial was in St. Bernard's cemetery, Tariffville.

 

Marie Celeste Peat:  Hartford Courant (Hartford, CT), Tuesday, 20 March 1951:  The funeral of Mrs. Celeste Benway of 32 Squire Street was held Monday morning at the funeral home of Taylor and Modeen with a requiem mass in Immaculate Conception Church.  Rev. Patrick V. Fitzmaurice was celebrant.  Bearers were Henry E. Peterson, Fred J. Peterson, Lawrence R. Peterson, Alfred N. Miller, Stanley W. Dawidowicz and Elmer H. Chatfield.  Father Fitzmaurice conducted the committal service in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery.

 

Jennie Maud Peat:  Plattsburgh Press-Republican (NY), Saturday, 1 March 1986:  Mooers Forks:  Jennie Miller, 99, died on Thursday, Feb. 27, 1986, at the Clinton County Nursing Home.  She was born on Jan. 19, 1887, in Ellenburg, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Rabideau) Peete.  Mrs. Miller was a housewife in Mooers Forks for many years.  She was a communicant of St. Ann's Church and a charter member of St. Anne's Society.  Survivors include five sons, Jerry, Leonard and Rudolph Miller, all of Mooers Forks, Gilbert Miller of East Greenbush and Francis Miller of Plattsburgh; four daughters, Leona Boulrice of Florida, Mrs. Lawrence (Geneva) Gadway of Mooers Forks, Loretta Giroux of Valley Field, Que., and Mrs. Walter (Dorothy) Anderson of Casleton; 52 grandchildren; 101 great-grandchildren and 48 great-great grandchildren.  Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday at the Drown Funeral Home in Mooers.  A funeral mass will be held on 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Ann's Church, Mooers Forks.  Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery in the spring.

 

Mitchell Gilbert Pete:  Plattsburgh Daily Republican (NY), Monday, 17 December 1939:  Mitchell Peets of 39 Charlotte street died at his home here yesterday morning following an illness of nine days.  Besides his wife, he is survived by five children.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock from St. John's church in Mooers Forks.  Interment will be in the family plot in the church cemetery.
