Obituary:  The Farmington Valley Herald (CT), Thursday, 19 July 1951:  William Peterson of Granby died at Hartford Hospital Thursday, July 12 .  Mr. Peterson is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Elberta Chatfield of Granby; four sons, Lawrence R. Peterson of Hazardville, Henry E. Peterson of Bloomfield, Fred J. Peterson of Hartford, and William L. Peterson of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Miller of Morris, N.Y., Mrs. Elizabeth Seymour of Stonington; one brother Peter Peterson of Holyoke, Mass.; and four grandchildren.  Funeral services were held from Charles H. Vincent and Sons Funeral Home, Simsbury, with requiem mass at St. Bernard's Church, Tariffville, Monday, July 17.  Burial was in St. Bernard's cemetery, Tariffville.

Amanda Justine 'Jennie Maude' Peterson:  Hartford Courant (Hartford, CT), Monday, 30 October 1944:  Mrs. Jennie Peterson Lawnicki of Hartford Avenue Road, East Granby, died Sunday at her home after a long illness.  She leaves her father, William Peterson and a sister, Mrs. Alberta Chatfield, both of East Granby; and four brothers, William Peterson and Fred Peterson of Windsor; Henry Peterson, Granby and Russell Peterson, East Granby.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the C.H. Vincent Funeral Home, Simsbury, with a requiem high mass at 10 at St. Bernard's Church, Tariffville.  Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.

 

Henry Edward Peterson:  Fort Lauderdale News (Fort Lauderdale, FL), Friday, 2 February 1973:  Henry E. Peterson, 52, of 2030 SW 85th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, passed away on Wednesday.  Came to the area four years ago from Thompsonville, Connecticut.  Was quality control manager for Stynadyne of Wilson, Connecticut with over 22 years of service.  Was presently with quality control, Motorola in Plantation. Former member of the Moose Lodge 919, Hollywood, Fla.  Survivors include his wife Rose M.; three sons Donald F. of Enfield, Connecticut, Carmine Cermola, of Florida, and Louis Cermola, of Bloomfield, Connecticut; a brother, Lawrence R., Hazardville, Connecticut; a sister, Mrs. Alberta Spencer of Granbey, Connecticut; and eight grandchildren.  Friends may call Thursday, 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Plantation Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral mass 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Saint Gregory Catholic Church with internment to follow Westlawn Memorial Gardens.  Arrangements by T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home.

 

Lawrence Russell Peterson:  Hartford Courant (Hartford, CT), Monday, 30 August 1999:  Lawrence "Russ" Peterson of Enfield, a retired tobacco worker, died Saturday at his home.  He was 72.  Born in Granby, he worked for Hartman Tobacco, the I. H. Woodworth Farm and Enfield Shade Tobacco, where he retired as a farm manager.  He was a charter member of the Enfield Lodge of Elks 2222, a super-numerary for the Enfield Police Department, and a World War II Army Air Forces veteran.  He was a caller for area square-dance clubs and communicant of St. Bernard's Church.  He leaves his wife, Jean E. Nolan Peterson; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Joseph Panek of Florida and Joseph and Lois Tetro of Windsor Locks; two nephews and their wives; a great-niece and her husband; a great-nephew; and a great-great-niece.  The funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road in Enfield, followed by a service at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard's Cemetery.  Calling hours are today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Donations made be made to the American Cancer Society.
