They've had 2 children but only Elizabeth age 1 still living.  Joseph's brother William 19 & his new wife Flora 17 live with them, as does his widowed mother-in-law Alice Bottom 50.  Also there is his sister Eliza 24 & her husband of 3 years Frank Seymour 23.

Obituary:  The North Countryman (NY), Thursday, 15 May 1941:  Joseph Peete, of Mooers, passed away at the Champlain Valley Hospital in Plattshurg on Saturday, May 10th, following a short illness.  Funeral services were held at St. Ann’s R.C. Church in Mooers Forks at 9:30 A.M., Tuesday, May 13th, and interment was in the local cemetery.  Surviving are Mrs. Peete and eight children.

- Plattsburgh Daily Press (NY), Saturday, 17 May 1941: May 16 - The funeral services for the late Joseph Peet, 65, who passed away at the C. V. hospital in Plattsburgh, Saturday, were held from Ste. Ann's church, Tuesday morning at 9:30.  Rev. A. M. Gilbert officiated at the high Mass of requiem.  Pallbearers were Henry Valley, Elphige Suparneau, John Trombly, Joseph Arthur and Mose Rabideau.  Interment was in the family plot in Ste. Ann's cemetery.  Mrs. Laura LeDuc sang "Face to Face" at the recessional.  Rev. Father Brault of St. Mary's church of Champlain, was present at the service; also two Reverend Sisters from St. Mary's Academy and several pupils of that school.  He is survived by his widow and eight children by a former marriage.  The daughters and their families of East Hampton, Mass., and New York City were present for the funeral.

Obituary:  Plattsburgh Daily Republican (NY), 18 December 1934, Ellenburg - Mr. and Mrs. Benj. Longtin attended the funeral of Mrs. Joseph Peets at the R.C. Church, Mooers Forks, Saturday.  Mrs. Peets death occurred at the home of her daughter in East Hampton, Mass.

Obituary:  Plattsburgh Press Republican (NY), Saturday, 8 January 1955:  Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Peete who died Monday, were held yesterday morning at St. Anne's Church in Mooers Forks.  The Rev. A.M. Gilbert, pastor, officiated at the services.  Bearers were Merritt, Ernest, Joseph, Leo, Bernard, Roger Garrand, all nephews of the deceased.  Burial was in St. Anne's Cemetery.

Elizabeth Peete:  Springfield Union (Springfield, MA), Thursday, 9 September 1965:  Mrs. Adam Boucher.  Easthampton - Mrs. Elizabeth F. (Peet) Boucher, 66, of 13 Plaza Ave., died Wednesday night in Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Northampton.  She was born in Moores Fork, N.Y., Feb. 7, 1899, daughter of Joseph and Gertrude (Lafond) Peet and came here in 1918.  She was married here to the late Adam Boucher in 1922 in Notre Dame Church.  He died in April, 1963.  She was a member of Circle Notre Dame.  She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Felix Borowski of Northampton; a son, Robert, of Brattleboro, Vt.; three brothers, Russell of Moores Fork, Jerry of Plattsburg, N.Y., and Lawrence of West Chazy, N.Y.; three sisters, Mrs. Marceline Nadeau of this town, with whom she made her home, Mrs. Jeannette Trombley of Moores Fork and Mrs. Harriet Caruso of Long Island, N.Y.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 at Boucher funeral home with a high mass of requiem at 9 in Notre Dame Church.  Burial will be in St. Brigid's Cemetery.  Calling hours at the funeral home are tonight from 7 to 10 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10.

Marceline Cora Peete Union News (Springfield, MA), Friday, 29 March 2002 - Easthampton - Marceline (Peet) Lafond, 98 of Summit Ave.  Wife of the late Henry Lamountagne, Leo Nadeau and Roy Lafond.  The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at the Boucher-O'Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant St., followed with a Mass at 10:00 at Notre Dame Church.  Calling hours Monday 2-4 and 7-9.

Jeremiah 'Jerry' Peete:  Press-Republican (NY), Tuesday, 28 September 1976:  Mooers Forks - Jerry Peete, 70, died Monday afternoon at the CVPH Medical Center.  He was born Oct. 9, 1905 in Mooers Forks, the son of Joseph and Gertrude (Bottom) Peete.  Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Marceline) LaFond of East Hampton, Mass., and Mrs. Joseph (Harriette) Lucchese of Ozone Park, Long Island, two brothers, Russell of Mooers Forks and Lawrence of West Chazy; several nieces and nephews.  Friends may call at the Drown Funeral Home in Mooers Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery in Mooers Forks.

- Adirondack Record (NY), Thursday, 20 May 1926:  First Blind Rum Runner Is Caught:  Jerry Peets of Mooers Forks, said to be the first blind bootlegger ever caught in Clinton county, was lodged in the county jail at Plattsburg Sunday afternoon following his arrest by federal men.  In Peet's wagon were eight cases of Canadian ale.  The arrest took place near the fair grounds at Plattsburg.

- Plattsburgh Daily Press (NY), Wednesday, 6 April 1932: Saranac chapter (DAR) is asked by the New York State Commission for the Blind to sanction the work of a blind man, Jerry Peete, of Mooers Forks, a maker of stools and chairs and repairer of same.

Jeannette 'Jennie' Peete:  Plattsburgh Press-Republican (NY), Wednesday, 12 March 1969: Mooers Forks:  Mrs. Maurice Trombley, 56, the former Jeanette Peete, died Tuesday at the Champlain Valley Unit of the Medical Center after an illness of several months.  She was born in Mooers Forks on Dec. 12, the daughter of Joseph and Gertrude Bottom Peete.  Survivors include her husband, six sons, Maurice Jr., and Ronald, both of Champlain, Charles, Robert and Larry, all of Mooers Forks, and Gerald of Champlain, 14 grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry Peete of Plattsburgh, Russell of Mooers Forks and Larry of West Chazy, and two sisters, Mrs. Marceline LaFond of East Hampton, Mass., and Mrs. Harriet Caruso of New York City.  A lifelong resident of Mooers Forks, she was a member of St. Ann's church and a member of the Ladies of St. Ann's.  Funeral arrangements are incomplete.  The body is at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home where calling hours start this evening at 7 p.m.

 

Russell J. Peete:  Plattsburgh Press-Republican (NY), Sunday, 11 September 1994: Mooers Forks:  Russell J. Peete, 79, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 1994, at his residence in Mooers Forks.  He was born Nov. 13, 1914 in Mooers Forks, the son of Joseph and Gertrude (Bottom) Peete.  He was a farmer in Mooers Forks for many years and a heavy-equipment operator.  He also operated Twin Bridges Restaurant for 10 years.  He was a member of St. Ann's Church and also the Mooers Knights of Columbus.  He is survived by his wife, the former Isabell Supernaw; two sons, Kenneth Peete of Champlain and Gerald Peete of Champlain; one daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Norma) Menard of Cumberland; two sisters, Marceline Lafond of East Hampton, Mass., and Harriet Caruso of Long Island; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E. F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers.  The Knights of Columbus should meet at 7:30 p.m.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ann's Church.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery in Mooers Forks.  Memorial donations may be made to the Mooers Fire Department.

Lawrence Henry Peete:  Plattsburgh Press-Republican (NY), 7 February 1981: Ingraham:  Lawrence H. Peete, 59, died Friday evening at his home in Ingraham.  He was born Jan. 13, 1922, in Mooers Forks, the son of Joseph and Gertrude (Bottom) Peete.  He operated Ronnie & Larry's Shell Station in Plattsburgh from 1959-1968.  He was employed by Plattsburgh State University College until 1973.  Mr. Peete graduated from St Mary's Academy in Champlain.  He attended Wadhams Hall and St. Michael's College in Vermont.  He served in occupied Japan during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 125 of Plattsburgh.  He was also a member of the Plattsburgh Lodge of Elks.  Survivors include his wife, the former Katherine DeCelle of Ingraham; one daughter, Kathleen Corley of Ticonderoga; one brother, Russell Peete of Mooers Forks; two sisters, Mrs. Marceline LaFond of East Hampton, Mass.; and Mrs. Harriet Caruso of Ozone Park, NY., and several nieces and nephews.  Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.  Funeral arrangements were incomplete Friday night.
