- Monday, 13 April 1925, Cohoes American (Cohoes, NY):  Fred Peets, 35, of 8 Van Vechten street was fined $100 and his automobile operator's license revoked by Justice Timothy J. McGann in police court this morning.  Peets was arrested last night by Motorcycle Patrolman Wilfred Delisle, charged with operating an automobile while intoxicated on North Mohawk street.  Peets while driving his automobile on that thoroughfare is alleged to have collided with a trolley car, his auto being wrecked.  He was taken to the Cohoes hospital wfter the crash, where it was found his lip had been cut by flying glass.  Later he was lodged in the police station.

- Wednesday, 8 May 1929, Cohoes American (Cohoes, NY):  Mrs. Fred Peets and her nine children of 157 Saratoga street, comprising the family of Fred Peets, 39, of the same address, who several days ago was sentenced to serve 60 days in the Albany penitentiary when he was adjudged guilty on a charge of indecent actions before one of his children, were placed aboard a train in this city today for Springfield, Mass., where they will be cared for by Mrs. Peet's relatives.  When the husband and father was sent to jail, Mrs. Peets was left with but $3 to provide for herself and family.  Since May 2, the date on which Police Judge S. R. Benson sentenced Peets to jail, the children have been cared for through an arrangement made by Commissioner of Charities George W. Maloney and welfare workers of Cohoes lodge of Elks.  Clothing and shoes for the children were furnished by the Elks.  The household furnishings of the family have also been shipped to Springfield.  This was also arranged for by Commissioner Maloney.  Peets was arrested April 9 on complaint of his wife, charged with indecency.  On this occasion he was sentenced to serve 60 days in the Albany penitentiary.  This sentence was suspended by Judge Benson when Mrs. Peets appeared in court the next day and explained that she would be unable to provide for herself and family if her husband was taken away.  Judge Benson consequently gave Peets one month to leave the city with his family but on May 2 when he was again brought before the court on a similar charge, the suspended sentence was made operative and he was taken to the county jail.  With no means of support, Mrs. Peets and her children were left in dire straits.  Neighbors came forward in their behalf and the city charities department of the Elks offered their aid.  In leaving Cohoes today Mrs. Peets expressed her gratitude to all who aided her and stated conditions would be better when she is with relatives in Massachusetts.

Lynch.  Failing to produce $2,000 bail, Peets will remain in the county jail until the May court session.  He was arrested at 9 o'clock by Cruising Officer Thomas F. Dugan and Joseph Enright Jr., after Policewoman Bess Sullivan was called by the parents of the children.  The defendant, police say, is the father of Lucien Peets, who was arrested in New York city last winter for assaulting a woman with the butt of a Christmas tree.  He was traced thru the draft registration card which he dropped in the store where the woman worked.  Lucien was given from five to ten years in Sing Sing for the assault.
