Obituary:  Springfield Republican (Springfield, MA), Tuesday, 8 April 1930:  Mrs. Sarah (King) Peet, 70, died this morning in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Melvina Hamel of 235 Main street.  Besides Mrs. Hamel, she leaves four other daughters, Mrs. Frank St. Cyr of New York city, Mrs. Joseph LaFlamme of Easthampton, Mrs. Harold Dickinson of Cohoes, N.Y., and Mrs. Ovila Labelle of Holyoke; eight sons, William of Sorel, Canada, Nelson of Clinton, Emery and Victor of New York city, Harry of Springfield, Edward of Cohoes, N.Y., and Ferdinand and Isaac of Holyoke; a brother, Joseph King, of North Adams; and four sisters, Mrs. Nelson Boucher of Southbridge, Mrs. Joseph Paquette of Clinton, Mrs. William Duclos and Mrs. Pierre Bessette, both of North Agawam.  The funeral will be held in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hamel, Wednesday morning with a high mass of requiem in Precious Blood church.  Burial will be in Notre Dame cemetery.

- Springfield Republican (Springfield, MA), Thursday, 10 April 1930:  The funeral of Mrs. Nelson Peet was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Malvin Hamel of 335 Main street, this morning, followed by a high mass of requiem at the Precious Blood church.  Rev. Joseph Boutin was celebrant.  The bearers were sons of the deceased, Isaac and Frederick of this city, Melvin of Clinton, Emile of New York city, Harry of Springfield, and Edward Peet of New York.  Burial was in Notre Dame cemetery.

Harriet 'Hattie' Pitre:  Springfield  Republican (MA), Sunday, 11 April 1937:  Mrs. Harriet (Peet) St. Cyr died this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Gilbert 235 Main street.  Besides her husband, Francis, she leaves three daughters Mrs. Gilbert, Mrs. Edward Murphy and Mrs. Joseph O'Connor all of Holyoke; five brothers, William Peet of Canada, Ferdinand, Emery and Edward of New York city and Harry of Easthampton; four sisters, Mrs. Emma LaFlamme of Easthampton, Mrs. Malcolm Hamel of this city, Mrs. Harold Dickinson of Cohoes N.Y., and Mrs. Ovial Lavalle of New York city.  The funeral will be held Monday morning at 7.30 at the Brunelle funeral home followed by a high mass of requiem at Precious Blood church at 9.  Burial will be in Notre Dame cemetery.

 

Isaac Louis Peets:  Springfield Daily Republican (MA), Monday, 18 May 1936:  Isaac Peets, 52, died today at the home of his sister, Mrs. Malvina Hamel, 112 Newton street, after a lingering illness.  He was born in Morris Forks, N.H. and had been employed as an expressman.  He leaves five sisters, Mrs. Henriette St. Cyr of Holyoke, Mrs. Joseph La Flamme of Easthampton, Mrs. Harold Dickinson of Cohoes, N.Y., Mrs. Ovila Labelle of Corona, N.Y., and five brothers, William of St. Joseph, Can., Narcisse of Clinton, Fred, Emery and Edward of New York city and Harry of Easthampton.  The funeral will be held at the Messler-Lacombe funeral parlors Tuesday morning at 8.30 followed by requiem high mass at the Perpetual Help church.  Burial will be in Notre Dame cemetery.

Nelson Peet:  Evening Gazette (Worcester, MA), Saturday, 5 December 1936:  Nelson Peete.  Clinton, Dec. 5 - Nelson Page, 50, of 94 Boylston street was stricken by a heart attack while at work as a foreman at the Maverick Mills in East Boston last night and died suddenly, local police were informed.  Mr. Peete was born in this town and had lived here all his life and was well known as a foreman of the spinning department of the old Lancaster Mills for many years.  He had been working in East Boston for the past seven years.  During his youth Mr. Peete was also well known as a semi-pro baseball player.  He is survived by his wife, Albina, and by three sons, Harvey, a former amateur and professional lightweight boxer, and Arthur and Raymond.  Funeral services will be held in Holy Rosary Church where Mr. Peete was a member.

- Evening Gazette (Worcester, MA), Monday, 7 December 1936:  Nelson Peete.  Clinton, Dec. 7 - The funeral of Nelson Peete was held in his home, 64 Boylston street, this morning.  A requiem mass was celebrated in Our Lady of the Rosary Church by Rev. Charles Hackett.  Burial was in St. John's Cemetery in charge of Undertaker John Bobka.  The bearers were: Eli Dumas, Hubert Paquette, Edward Coogan, George McQuold, Albert Moisan and James Valerio.  Rev. Timothy Leary officiated at the grave.

Fred Ferdinand Charles Peets:  The Springfield Union (MA), Thursday, 18 January 1951: Holyoke, Jan. 17 - Ferdinand Peets, 61, of 633 South Bridge St., died this afternoon in Holyoke Hospital after a long illness.  He leaves his wife, Mrs. Laura (Fontaine) Peets; six sons, Arthur in the Army stationed in California, Harvey of New Jersey, Albert and Lucien both of New York City, Edmund of Detroit and Henry of this city; three daughters, Mrs. Rita Pellerin and Mrs. Helen Labrie both of this city and Mrs. Jeannette Rhangelli of New York City; and 16 grandchildren.  The funeral will be at the C. Blais Son funeral home Saturday at 7:45 with a solemn high mass of requiem in Precious Blood Church at 8.30.  Burial will be in Precious Blood Cemetery.

Mary Malvina Peets:  Springfield Union (Springfield, MA), Monday, 11 October 1965:  Senior Citizens Club Head, Mrs. Hamel, Dies - Holyoke:  Mrs. Malvina Marie (Peets) Hamel of 300 Walnut St., president of the Holyoke Senior Citizens Club, died Sunday at Holyoke Hospital.  She was the widow of Alphonse Hamel.  Mrs. Hamel was born in Iona, N.Y., daughter of the late Nelson and Sarah (King) Peets and resided in this city for 50 years.  She was employed at the former Farr Alpaca Co. here, and retired 15 years ago.  She was formerly secretary of the Textile Workers Union here.  For several years she was active in the work of the Senior Citizens Club and the Holyoke Golden Age Club.  She served as president of Senior Citizens Club for the past several years and was choir director of the Golden Age Club for several years.  She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Irene Menard and Mrs. Doris Greaney, both of this city; two sons, Theodore Hamel of this city, and Wilfred Hamel of Springfield; a sister, Mrs. Emma LaFramme of Easthampton, and eight grandchildren.  The funeral will be at John B. Shea funeral home Wednesday at 8:15 with a solemn requiem mass in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 9.  Burial will be in St. Jerome Cemetery.  Calling hours at the funeral home will be from today at 2.

 

Henry 'Harry' Joseph Peets:  Springfield Union (Springfield, MA), Sunday, 22 October 1950:  Easthampton - Harry J. Peets.  Easthampton, Oct. 21 - Harry J. Peets, 56, of 38 Cottage St., died today in Cooley Dickinson Hospital after a brief illness.  He was born in Santa Clara, N.Y., son of Nelson and Sarah (Roy) Peets and came to this town at an early age.  For several years he was employed by the Connor's Express and lately at Toto's, Smiths Ferry.  He leaves his wife, Mable (LaPier) Peets; a daughter, Mrs. Hildreth Delisle of this town; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth LaBelle of New York City, Mrs. Emma Hamel of Holyoke, Mrs. Harold Dickerson of Cohoes, N.Y., and Mrs. Erma LaFlamme of this town; three brothers, Ferdinand of Holyoke and John and Edward of New York City, and two grandchildren.  Funeral services under the direction of the Boucher funeral home, are incomplete.

 

Rose Mary Alvina Peet:  The Times Record (Troy, NY), Tuesday, 28 August 1962:  Mrs. Harold Dickinson, past president of the auxiliary of the E. T. Ruane Post, American Legion, died yesterday at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a short illness.  She was the former Alvina Peet and resided at 20 Lancaster St., Cohoes.  Mrs. Dickinson, a native of Clinton, Mass., had lived in Cohoes for 38 years.  She was a communicant of St Joseph's Church, Cohoes, and a member of the Ladies of St. Ann of the parish.  Mrs. Dickinson also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Spanish-American War Veterans of Cohoes.  Survivors include, besides her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Benoit, Waterford; a son, Wilfred Dickinson, Cohoes; two sisters, Mrs. Emma LaFlamme, East Hampton, Mass., and Mrs. Malvina Hamel, Holyoke, Mass., and four grandchildren.  The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday from the Marra Funeral Home, Remsen and Columbia streets, Cohoes, and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church, where a Solemn Requiem Mass will be sung.  Interment will be in St Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford.

Elizabeth Peet:  Springfield Union (Springfield, MA), Thursday, 18 December 1958:  Mrs. Ovila Labelle.  Easthampton - Word has been received of the death on Sunday in New York of Mrs. Elizabeth (Peets) Labelle, wife of Ovila Labelle, and a former resident of Easthampton.  She was born in Clinton, daughter of the late Nelson and Sara (Roy) Peets, and came to Easthampton with her parents as a young girl.  She has made her home in New York for the last 25 years.  Besides her husband, she leaves four daughters; two sons; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Laflamme of Easthampton, Mrs. Mary Hamel of Holyoke, and Mrs. Harold Dickinson of Cohoes, N.Y.; a brother, Edward Peets of New York, and several nieces and nephews.  The funeral will be held in New York City.
