Obituary:  Transcript Telegram (Holyoke, MA), Wednesday, 22 September 1982:  Arthur A. Peets, 70, of 335 Beech St., Holyoke, died today in Holyoke Hospital following a long illness.  He was the husband of Rose (Thibodeau) Peets.  He was born in Holyoke, Sept. 5, 1912, son of the late Frederick and Laura (Fountain) Peets, and was educated in the Holyoke schools.  He was formerly employed for many years by the B. F. Perkins Co. as a clerk, retiring several years ago.  Mr. Peets was an Army veteran of World War II, with the rank of technician fifth class, and served in the European, African and Middle East theatres.  He was a communicant of Perpetual Help Church, and a member of American Legion Post 353 in Chicopee.  He also is survived by a son, Arthur A. Jr. of Chicopee; two brothers, Lucien of Boston and Henry of Chicopee; a sister, Helen Labrie of Holyoke, and two grandchildren.  The funeral will be Friday morning from the Dillon Funeral Home, followed by the liturgy of Christian burial in Perpetual Help Church.  Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley.  Calling hours at the funeral home are today 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Obituary:  The Springfield Republican (MA), Wednesday, 6 December 2006:  Chicopee - Rita (St Marie) M. Contois, age 89, passed away on November 30, 2006 at the Chapin Center in Springfield.  She was born on September 15, 2006 in Holyoke to the late Joseph and Clarinda (Hebert) St Marie.  She has lived in Chicopee for most of her life.  She was a communicant of St Patrick Church.  She worked as a machine operator for Westvaco Envelope Co. for over 20 years before retiring around 1980.  She is predeceased by her husband Frank Contois who passed away in 1980 and by her son Arthur Peets.  She is also predeceased by her brothers and her sisters.  She leaves her daughter-in-law Mary Ann Peets of Chicopee and 3 grandchildren John Peets and his wife Rene of Chicopee, Tom Peets of Chicopee and Lisa Giguere and her husband Joe of Windsor CT.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St Patrick's Church on Friday December 8, 2006 at 11:00 A.M.  Burial will follow in St Patrick's Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee on the morning of the funeral from 9:30 A.M. till time of service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rita's memory to Hailey's Hope Chest, Windsor, CT.  Grise Funeral Home Family Owned and Operated Since 1921.

Obituary:  Springfield Union News (MA), Tuesday, 22 June 1999:  Holyoke -  Rose A. (Thibodeau) Monfette Peets, 88, formerly of 335 Beech St., died Sunday at a local nursing home.  She was a machine operator at Adams Plastics Co. for 20 years and retired in 1975.  Born and educated in St. Afram de Bois, Canada, she lived here for many years and was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Chicopee.  Her first husband, Wilfred Monfette, died in 1983 and her second husband, Arthur Peets, in 1982.  She leaves five sons, Morris Monfette of South Hadley, George Monfette of Boston, Richard Monfette of Holyoke, Alfred Monfette of Chesterfield and Gerald Monfette of Chicopee; four daughters, Katherine Cliche of Chicopee, Doris Cooke of Westfield, Linda Bonfiglio of Atkinson, N.H., and Lou Ann Brown of Westfield; 25 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services are Wednesday morning at Dillon Funeral Home and the church, with burial in Notre Dame Cemetery.  Calling hours are this evening.

Arthur Alfred Peets:  Springfield Union News (MA), Saturday, 1 August 1992 :  Arthur A. "Mize" Peets, 51, of 74 Boutin St., a retired produce manager for Stop & Shop Supermarkets, died Friday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.  He worked for the grocery chain at several area locations for 30 years, and retired in 1990.  Born in Holyoke, he lived most of his life in this city, and was a 1957 graduate of Chicopee High School.  He also attended Western New England College in Springfield.  He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, and belonged to the Tigers Athletic Club and the National Rifle Association.  He leaves his wife, the former MaryAnn Minkos; two sons, John T. and Thomas M.; a daughter, Lisa M. Peets, all at home, and his mother, Rita (St. Marie) Contois of Chicopee.  The funeral will be Monday morning at Tylunas Funeral Home and the church, with burial in the parish cemetery.  Calling hours are Sunday afternoon and evening.
