Obituary:  The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Thursday, 12 September 1935:  Mrs. Agathe Pitre, Pioneer of Jennings Section, Dies at 85 - Jennings, La., Sept. 12 - Mrs. Agatha Pitre, 85, one of the pioneers of this parish, died yesterday at her home near Fenton from infirmities incident to advanced age.  She was the mother of Yves and Sidney Pitre members of the police jury and aunt of Clarphy Pitre, clerk of court.

- Beaumont Journal (TX), Friday, 13 September 1935:  Jennings, La., Sept. 13 - After 85 years spent in the same community, Mrs. Agatha Pitre, mother of Yves and Sidney Pitre, police jurors of this parish, died Wednesday afternoon at her home on Bayou Serpent, just a short distance from the place where she was born and reared.  The funeral was held Thursday morning, interment being in LeBleu cemetery.  She is survived by Yves and Sidney of this parish; Columbus Pitre of Leesville, and Sherman Pitre, who lived with the deceased; two daughters, Mrs. Lillie Wilson and Mrs. Edmond Gulleman.

- 21 March 1913:  Agath Pitre et als, to Sidney Pitre 160 acres more or less, $275.

- 31 July 1914:  Mrs. Edmond Pitre has just returned from Texas where she has been visiting her son Ambrose Pitre of the lone star state.

- 23 February 1917:  Mr. and Mrs. Ausem Marcantel, Misses Lillie and Ada Pitre and Mr. Wilson of Fenton attended the Radcliffe Attractions Thursday.

- 13 July 1917:  Mrs. Columbes Pitre and Master Emile Winfell of Leesville and Asbey Marcantel of Kinder, who are visiting Misses Lillie and Ada Pitre at Fenton, in company with Miss Lillie Pitre were Welsh visitors Wednesday.

- 8 March 1918:  Sidney and Sherman and Miss Lillie Pitre and their mother of Fenton were here on business Saturday.

- 26 April 1918:  Miss Lillie Pitre, Master Edmond Pitre and Mr. S.O. Tilly of Fenton visited friends at Camp Beauregard Saturday and Sunday.  They report having had a most excellent time.

- 28 June 1920, Fenton:  While the sun was rising in the east Thursday morning, June 24th, a car rolled by the home of your scribe.  The occupants were Mrs. Sidney Pitre. Mr. E. E. Wilson of Colorado and Miss Lilly Pitre of Fenton.  They were headed for Lake Charles, and arriving in that city Mr. Wilson and Miss Pitre received the blessing that made them husband and wife.  After a short visit in the city by the lake side they returned to Fenton to await the 2:00 o'-clock north bound train.  The train arrived on time and in the midst of a shower of rice and farewell shouts as the many friends showed them off on the train toward their far away home in Colorado.  Mr. Wilson resided here for several years and made a host of friends who regret to see him go.  Miss Lilly Pitre was born and raised in Fenton.  She has a host of friends here who wish her and her husband a pleasant journey through life and a joyous honeymoon on the trip to the new home.

Obituaries for the children:

Columbus Pitre:  The Times (Shreveport, LA), Tuesday, 18 August 1953:  Columbus Pitre, 77, prominent Leesville business and civic leader, died in a Shreveport hospital Monday night after a short illness.  Mr. Pitre was a long-time resident of Vernon parish.  He was a director of the Leesville Improvement company, a vice-president of the Merchants and Farmers Bank and a prominent land owner.  He was a member of the Leesville Catholic church.  Funeral arrangements are undetermined, but will be held in Leesville under the direction of the Hixon Brothers Funeral Home.  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. May Pitre; one daughter, Marie, of Leesville; one son, Edmund, of Leesville, three brothers and three sisters.

Yves Pitre:  American Press (Lake Charles, LA), Tuesday, 7 October 1958:  Final rites for Yves Pitre, 77, Fenton cattleman and farmer, were to be held at 3 p.m. today at the Fenton Catholic church.  Burial was to be in LeBleu cemetery with Hixson funeral home of Lake Charles in charge.  Mr. Pitre, a former member of both the Jefferson Davis parish police jury and school board, died at 2:40 p.m. Monday at the Kinder clinic.  He had suffered a heart attack.  He was a lifelong resident of Fenton, and served on the police jury from 1912 to 1932.  Mr. Pitre was also a member of the school board for 12 years.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rose Pitre; two sons, Claude of Fenton and Edmond of New Orleans; a daughter, Miss Aries Pitre of Fenton; a granddaughter; two brothers, Sherman and Sidney, both of Fenton; and two sisters, Mrs. Elmo Gilmore of Ville Platte and Mrs. W.E. Wilson of Fenton.  Pallbearers will be Hubert Smith, Harold Miller, Norman Miller, Lloyd Peloquin, Elpha Hebert and Lucien Vidrine.

Ada Marie Pitre:  The Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Sunday, 23 July 1978:  Ville Platte - Ada Guillaumin, 93, of Ville Platte died at 7 p.m. Thursday in Ville Platte General Hospital.  Survivors include her husband, Elmo E. Guillaumin of St. Landry.  Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Theresa Catholic Church with the Rev. Leslie Prescott officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Rush, Pine Prairie.
