- 13 February 1914: We are sorry to report that Mr. Sherman Pitre has been ill for several days with fever. We hope to see Sherm out again in a few days.
- 13 October 1914: Mr. C.J. Phelps of Fenton has his thrashing outfit at Mr. Sherman Pitre and will thrash Monday. Mr. Pitre says the rice is good and he expects a good yield.
- 15 June 1915: Mr. Sherman Pitre lost a fine saddle nag last week. Mr. Pitre said it was either poison or probably botts. Mr.
Pitre would have readily given up his best mule instead of his mare, which was his favorite animal on the farm.
- 8 March 1918: Sidney and Sherman and Miss Lillie Pitre and their mother of Fenton were here on business Saturday.
- 26 April 1918: James Johnson, Sherman Pitre and Miss Lillie Pitre of Fenton were Welsh business visitors Tuesday.

2000: Welsh - Funeral services for Deloss Pitre, 60, will be at 1
p.m., Sunday, Jan. 9, in Hixson Funeral Home. The Rev. Augustine
Mulanjanay will officiate. Burial will be in LeBleu Cemetery in Fenton.
Visitation is 2-10 p.m. today, with a wake service at 7:30 p.m. and a rosary at
8 p.m.; and from 8 a.m. Sunday. Mr. Pitre died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in
the Welsh hospital. He was a native of Lake Charles and had lived in Welsh
for 60 years. He was a member of St. Charles Boromeo and of Beefmasters
Breeders United. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Gail Frederick
Pitre of Welsh; one son, Shane Pitre of Fenton; one daughter,
Katrina Pitre Johnson of Fenton; one brother, Curtis Peloquin of
Iowa, La.; and one grandchild.
