Obituary:  The Lewiston Daily Sun (Lewiston, ME), Saturday, 28 August 1926:  Skowhegan, Aug. 27 - Andrew Peters, 73, died at his home on North avenue, Thursday night, after an illness since March 1.  He was born in Prince Edward Island, and came to this town about 40 years ago to make his home.  For some time he was employed at the office of the Independent Reporter.  He was obliged to enter the hospital at Portland for treatment a few months ago, but did not receive any relief, so returned home where he since has been failing fast.  He attended the Catholic church.  He is survived by his widow, nee Miss Mary Ann Ledger, one brother, Robert Peters, of Limerick; and the following children: Maxim Peters, Auburn; Mrs. Margaret Turcotte, Gardiner; Mrs. Ida Belliveau, Skowhegan; Samuel Peters and Andrew Peters of this town.

Obituary:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Monday, 24 November 1941:  Mrs. Mary Peters - Skowhegan, Nov. 23 - Mrs. Mary Peters, Gold Star mother, died at the Redington Memorial hospital today.  Simon Peters post, American Legion, was named for her son.  She was born in New Rogersville, N.B., 74 years ago and her husband was Andrew Peters, who died 15 years ago.  Surviving are the following children, Maxim Peters of Skowhegan, Mrs. Elmer Turcotte, Gardiner, Mrs. Ida Belliveau, Samuel Peters, Jr., and Andrew Peters, all of Skowhegan; and the following sisters:  Mrs. Margaret Richards, Skowhegan, Mrs. Thomas Ledger, Limerick, and Mrs. Anthony Cafey, New Brunswick.

- Will:  The Bangor Daily News (ME), Thursday, 11 December 1941:  Mrs. Mary A. Peters of Skowhegan left an estate not to exceed $4600.  She bequeathed to Mrs. Ida Belliveau of Skowhegan, her daughter, the home at 145 North avenue, with some household furniture.  To her sons, Maxim and Andrew, of Skowhegan, she left a residence at 8 Shirley street; they are to pay Samuel Peters, another son, $400 as his share of the estate.  To another daughter, Mrs. Margaret Turcotte of Gardiner, she bequeathed $600; a dollar each to her grandsons, Francis and William Peters, and the remainder of the estate to Maxim Peters.

Obituaries for the children:

Maxime Pitre:  Morning Sentinel (Waterville, ME), Monday, 16 January 1950:  Skowhegan - Maxim Peters died Saturday night shortly after his admission to a Skowhegan hospital.  He had been in ill health a long time.  Mr. Peters was a shoe worker and had worked in Skowhegan and in a Lewiston shop until he retired last summer.  He was a member of the Order of Eagles.  Mr. Peters had lived in Skowhegan the most of his life and of late had made his home with his niece, Mrs. LeRoy Beckwith, being cared for by his sister, Mrs. Ida Belliveau.  He was born in Rogersville, N.B., April 19, 1885.  Surviving are two sons, Wilfred of Portland and Philip of Chicago; a daughter, Mrs. Romeo Landry of Waterville; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Belliveau of Skowhegan and Mrs. Elmer Turcotte of Gardiner and two brothers, Samuel Peters of Skowhegan and Andrew Peters of Hartford, Conn.  The body will be at Lord's Funeral Home Skowhegan, until Tuesday morning when the funeral will be held at 9 o'clock at Notre Dame de Lourdes Chapel.  The body will be placed in the tomb to await later burial in Calvary Cemetery.

 

Marguerite Pitre:  Kennebec Journal (Augusta, ME), Monday, 2 February 1959:  Gardiner - Mrs. Margaret Mary Turcotte, 71, died unexpectedly at Gardiner General Hospital Saturday afternoon.  She was the widow of Edmond Turcotte.  Born April 17, 1887 in Pittsfield, Mass., she was the daughter of Andrew and Marianne Legere Peters.  She is survived by two sons, Adolph A. and Lionel J., both of Farmingdale; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur French and Mrs. Erland Jordan, both of Gardiner; one brother, Samuel Peters of Skowhegan; one sister, Mrs. Ida Beliveau, Bangor; one foster sister, Mrs. Leona Foster of Skowhegan; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  A requiem high Mass will be sung at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Ida D. Pitre:  Morning Sentinel (Waterville, ME), Thursday, 22 February 1990:  Ida D. Belliveau, 101, died Wednesday at a Waterville nursing home.  She was born in Sanford, Feb. 15, 1889, the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Ledger) Peters.  She was a former resident of Clinton and Skowhegan.  She was a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne in Skowhegan.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxilliary in Skowhegan.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Lumina LeClair, who died in January 1990.  She is survived by two grandchildren, Joyce Thrasher of Clinton and Jean Gower of Benton; eight great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren.  There will be no visiting hours or funeral services.  Spring burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Skowhegan.  Arrangements are by the Redington Funeral Home of Clinton.

Samuel Anthony Peters:  The Bangor Daily News (ME), Wednesday, 11 September 1968:  Samuel Peters - Skowhegan - Samuel A. Peters, 77, died at a Togus hospital Monday evening after a long illness.  He was born at Augusta April 2, 1891, the son of Andrew and Mary (Legere) Peters.  He was a veteran of World War I.  Survivors besides his widow, Helen (Lafargue) Peters of Skowhegan include two daughters, Mrs. George (Simone) Bonneau and Mrs. Arthur (Catherine) Godin, both of Skowhegan; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ida Belliveau of Brewer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. in Notre Dame de Lourdes Church.  Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.  Prayers will be said at the Lord Funeral Home Wednesday at 8 a.m.

Patrick Peters:  Kennebec Journal (Augusta, ME), Wednesday, 2 July 1919:  Patrick Peters, aged about 25 years, died Tuesday at his home on Parlin street.  He was a brother of Corp. Simon Peters, late of Co. E who was killed in action near Belleau Wood.  His parents survive.

- The Independent Reporter (Skowhegan, ME), Thursday, 3 July 1919:  The death of Patrick Peters occurred at the home of his parents on North avenue last Tuesday noon after a long illness.  He was born in Livermore Falls, June 19, 1892, the son of Andrew and Mary (Legere) Peters, both native of New Brunswick where they were married about 36 years ago.  Following their marriage the family came to Maine and settled in Skowhegan.  Of this union ten children were born, of whom five are living and five deceased.  Those living are Samuel A. Peters who is employed at Limerick and who served in the 10th Eng. Foresters overseas; Maxim Peters who married Miss Felixine Vachon and resides in Gardiner; Marguerite who is the wife of Elmer Turcotte and located in Gardiner; Ida the wife of Julian Geliveau of Skowhegan and Andrew aged eleven.  Those deceased are Corporal Simon Peters who was killed in action in France, July 23, 1918; Alfred Peters, Joseph Peters and Rosie Peters who died when they were very young.  Mr. Peters was married about three years ago last May to Miss Addie Goulette of Skowhegan.  They became the parents of two children Frances and William.  Prior to Mr. Peters illness since January, he was employed by the American Woolen Company.  The deceased is survived by his parents, wife and two children, also his brothers and sisters already mentioned.  The funeral services occur this (Thursday) morning at nine o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Renaud officiating.  Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery on North ave.

Simon Peters:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Wednesday, 7 August 1918:  Skowhegan, Me., August 6 - Official information was received here Monday morning stating that Corp. Simon Peters of this town had been killed in action on July 23.  Corp. Peters, who was 20 years old, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Peters, who live on East Front street near the corner of Main street.  He enlisted prior to Co. F's trip to the Mexican border, accompanying the troops there and again journeying with them overseas.  Besides his parents, Corp. Peters is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Maxine Peters of Gardiner, Patrick Peters of Skowhegan, Andrew Peters of Skowhegan; Samuel Peters, who enlisted in the Engineer's Corps; Mrs. Ida Beliveau of Skowhegan and Mrs. Margaret Turcotte of Gardiner.  Previous to the beginning of his military service the deceased was employed in a local textile plant.
