Obituary: The Bangor Daily News (ME), Wednesday, 11 September 1968: Samuel Peters - Skowhegan - Samuel A. Peters, 77, died at a Togus hospital Monday evening after a long illness. He was born at Augusta April 2, 1891, the son of Andrew and Mary (Legere) Peters. He was a veteran of World War I. Survivors besides his widow, Helen (Lafargue) Peters of Skowhegan include two daughters, Mrs. George (Simone) Bonneau and Mrs. Arthur (Catherine) Godin, both of Skowhegan; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ida Belliveau of Brewer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. in Notre Dame de Lourdes Church. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Prayers will be said at the Lord Funeral Home Wednesday at 8 a.m.

Obituary: Morning Sentinel (Waterville, ME), Friday, 4 January 1991: Skowhegan - Helen Jean Peters, 93, died Wednesday at Redington-Fairview Hospital. She was born in Aureillan, France, the daughter of Etienne and Catherine (Canlorbe) Lafargue. She was a longtime resident of Skowhegan. She was employed for many years as a fancy stitcher by the Norrwock Shoe Company, retiring in 1975. She was a communicant of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Skowhegan. Her husband, Samuel Peters, died in 1968. A daughter, Simone Bonneau, died Aug. 25, 1990. She is survived by: one daughter, Mrs. Katherine Godin of Skowhegan; two grandsons, Brian Bonneau and Steve Godin, both of Skowhegan; two granddaughters, Mrs. Michael (Brenda) Cody of Augusta, Mrs. Gregory (Pamela) Violette of Old Town; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. There will be no visiting hours. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, Skowhegan with Rev. George Beaudet officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Skowhegan.

She was born in Brest, France, Aug. 3, 1919, the daughter of Samuel and Helen (Lefevre) Peters. She was married to George Bonneau, who died July 9, 1985. She was employed by Norwock Shoe Factory in Skowhegan for many years, retiring in 1981. A long-time resident of Skowhegan, Mrs. Bonneau was a communicant of the Notre Dame DeLourde Church in Skowhegan. She is survived by her mother of Skowhegan; a son, Brian Bonneau of East Madison; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Brenda) Cody of Augusta; a stepson, Vernal Bonneau of Durham, N.C.; a sister, Katherine Godin of Skowhegan; a granddaughter, seven step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be held today at 2 p.m. at Notre Dame DeLourde Church, Water Street, Skowhegan. Burial will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in Skowhegan. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Brunswick. Arrangements are by Nelson J. Smart Funeral Home, Skowhegan.
