Obituary:  Morning Sentinel (Waterville, ME), Monday, 16 January 1950:  Skowhegan - Maxim Peters died Saturday night shortly after his admission to a Skowhegan hospital.  He had been in ill health a long time.  Mr. Peters was a shoe worker and had worked in Skowhegan and in a Lewiston shop until he retired last summer.  He was a member of the Order of Eagles.  Mr. Peters had lived in Skowhegan the most of his life and of late had made his home with his niece, Mrs. LeRoy Beckwith, being cared for by his sister, Mrs. Ida Belliveau.  He was born in Rogersville, N.B., April 19, 1885.  Surviving are two sons, Wilfred of Portland and Philip of Chicago; a daughter, Mrs. Romeo Landry of Waterville; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Belliveau of Skowhegan and Mrs. Elmer Turcotte of Gardiner and two brothers, Samuel Peters of Skowhegan and Andrew Peters of Hartford, Conn.  The body will be at Lord's Funeral Home Skowhegan, until Tuesday morning when the funeral will be held at 9 o'clock at Notre Dame de Lourdes Chapel.  The body will be placed in the tomb to await later burial in Calvary Cemetery.

Obituary:  Morning Sentinel (Waterville, ME), Monday, 4 August 1952:  Mrs. Felixine Peters, 63, of 11 Hillside Avenue died early Sunday morning at a local hospital following a long illness.  She was born in Biddeford Dec. 11, 1888, and has resided in Waterville for the past 24 years with her daughter, Mrs. Alice Landry.  Survivors are two sons, Wilfred of Sanford and Phillip of Pittsburgh, Penn.; one daughter, Mrs. Romeo Landry of Waterville; two brothers, Peter Vashon of Skowhegan, and Omer Vashon of Lewiston; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Caron, Augusta; Miss Alice Vashon, Skowhegan and Mrs. Adelaide Beurgoin, Portland.  The body is at the Veilleux Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Church.  Burial will be in the family lot in St. Francis Cemetery.

 

Obituaries for the children:

Joseph Philippe Pitre:  Evening Express (Portland, ME), Tuesday, 21 December 1976:  Phillip J. Peters, 65, of 633 Congress St., formerly of Pittsburgh, Pa., died unexpectedly Monday at a local hospital.  He was born July 16, 1911, in Skowhegan, and attended the schools there.  He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the tank corps in the European Theater.  He later was employed with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad System for more than 15 years.  Mr. Peters retired in 1961 due to ill health.  He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, a life member of South Portland VFW Post and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.  He leaves his wife, the former Carolyn E. Pulan.  Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at 749 Congress St., followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church.  Interment will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.

 

Irene E. Peters:  Morning Sentinel (Waterville, ME), Thursday, 10 April 1947:  Mrs. Irene E. Dulac, late proprietor of Irene's Beauty Salon at 118 Western Avenue. died Wednesday morning at a local hospital after a short illness.  She was born in Skowhegan on Nov. 11, 1913, but had been a resident of this community for the past 19 years.  Surviving are her husband, Richard, three sons, Richard Jr., Robert and David; a daughter, Rita; her father, Maxime Peters of Skowhegan; her mother, Mrs. Felixine Peters of this city; two brothers, Philip Peters and Wilfred Peters of Sanford; a sister, Mrs. Alice Landry of this city.  The body will be at Veilleux Funeral Home until Saturday morning when funeral services will be held at Saint Francis de Sales Church at 9:30 o'clock.  Burial will be in the family lot in the Catholic cemetery.

 

Alice Lillian Peters:  Morning Sentinel (Waterville, ME), Monday, 14 March 1955:  Mrs. Alice Landry, 39, died Sunday morning at her home, 11 Hillside Avenue.  A member of the family found her dead and called Dr. Rodolphe Pomerleau.  Dr. Pomerleau reported the death to Medical Examiner Wilson H. McWethy in Augusta who said that death was due to natural causes.  She was born in Skowhegan March 3, 1916, the daughter of Maxime and Felixine Vashon Peters.  She is survived by her husband, Romeo; one daughter, Mrs. June Caron; one son, Romeo jr., both of this city; two brothers, Wilfred Peters of Sanford and Philip Peters, Pittsburgh, Pa.  She had been employed at Squire's for the past five years.  The body is at the Veilleux Funeral Home until services to be announced.  Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
