Obituary: The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Tuesday, 31 March 1953: William J. Petrie - Milford, March 30 - William J. Petrie, 68, resident of Milford for the past 18 years, died suddenly at his home on Sandy Point road Sunday night after a long period of ill health. Mr. Petrie was born in Chatham, N.B. August 8, 1884 the son of Stephen and Margaret (Perry) Petrie. He was an active member of Old Town Grange and of St. Ann's parish, Bradley. Monday afternoon at her home in Bradley after a long illness. Mrs. Petrie
was born in Bradley, the daughter of Cephus and Mary (Marquis) Ouellette.
She was a member of St. Ann's Church and the Ladies of St. Ann Sodality in
Bradley. She is survived by two sons, Sterling Shorette, Old Town;
and William Petrie, who is serving with the U.S. Army in Stuttgart,
Germany; also 11 daughters, Mrs. Urban Despres, Clinton, Mrs. Eugene
Marquis and Mrs. Woodrow Libby, both of Bradley, Mrs. Joseph LeBlanc and
Mrs. Bernard LeBlanc both of Old Town, Mrs. Maurice Parady and Mrs.
Edmund Tesla, both of Stratford, Conn., Mrs. Clarence Fugerio,
Bridgeport, Conn., Mrs. Gilbert Cook, Augusta, Mrs. Clement Shina,
New Jersey, and Mrs. Frank Moran, Milford. She is also survived by
three step-daughters, Mrs. George Thibault, Old Town, Mrs. Philip
Corrigan, Kittery, and Mrs. Arline Daigle, Washburn; three step-sons,

Petrie had been employed by the Bangor and Aroostook railroad for the past years, coming to Milo from Old Town. He was born in Ashland, April 1, 1905, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Petrie. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic church in Derby. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Corrine Petrie, three sons, Roger, Ronald and Edward, Jr.; three daughters, Cleo, Beatrice and Linda; his parents, who reside in Old Town; three sisters, Mrs. Rosella Thibodeau of Old Town; Mrs. Viola Corrigan of Lewiston, and Mrs. Beatrice Daigle of Eagle Lake; three brothers, Albert of Lisbon; Lawrence of Bradley and Clarence of Old Town; seven half-sisters, Cleo, Loretta, Elaine, Eva, Theresa, Donna and Connie, and a half-brother, William, all of Old Town. A native of Ashland he was born Feb. 21, 1912 the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Petrie. He came to Lewiston as a young man and lived here until moving to California about 16 years ago. Before leaving the community he had been employed at the Bonafide Mill at Lisbon. In California, until ill health forced his retirement, he was employed by the U.S. Well Company. He was a member of St. Rose de Lima Church of Bell where his funeral will be held on Wednesday morning. Surviving is his widow the former Lillian Gauthier of Lewiston, a daughter, Gloria Jean Petrie; two sisters, Mrs. George Thibeault, Old Town; Mrs. Phil Carrignan, Kittery, a step sister, Mrs. Fred Daigel, Washburn; two brothers, Clarence Petrie of Old Town and Lawrence of Bradley.

Mr. Petrie also served many years as a reserve for the Old Town police department and was a communicant of St. Ann's Catholic Church of Bradley. He was born in Milford, the son of William and Rose (Willette) Petrie. Mr. Petrie was retired from the U.S. Army, and lived in the Martinez, Ga. area since 1969. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion Post 192. Survivors include his wife of Martinez; sons, Charles William and wife, Vickie Petrie II of Martinez and Steven James Petrie of Atlanta, Ga.; daughters, Echo Yvonne Byrd and Sharon Anne and husband, Dan Gregg, all of Augusta, Ga., Catherine Rose Petrie and Judy Madrie, both of Atlanta; brother, Clarence Petrie of Old Town; five sisters, Constance Shina of Old Town, Theresa Laliberte of Milford, Donna Cook of Jay, Olive Buck of Bradley, Yevette Fugerio of Old Town; six grandchildren, Zachary Petrie, Maria Petrie, Megan Petrie, Amanda Wright, Jennifer Wright and Julie Gregg. 'Pete' Petrie, 91, passed away June 29, 2007, at Orono Commons Nursing Home. He was born Dec. 11, 1915, in Ashland, the son of William and Eva (Cote) Petrie. Pete worked for many years as a shoe cutter at the shoe shop in Old Town and then he worked for Lily Tulip. During his retirement, he painted many houses in the area. He loved music. Pete played in the band Green Valley Boys and in the Community Band. His expertise was the banjo, fiddle and bass, and he adopted the nickname 'Picky' from his talents. Pete just generally loved being around people. He was fun loving and like to keep busy. Pete also enjoyed gardening. He was predeceased by his wife, Glenys (Cates) Petrie; parents; and 17 siblings. Pete is survived by his daughter, Susan Danforth and her husband, Fred, of Milford; son, Wayne Petrie and his wife, Meredith, of Connecticut; grandchildren, Peter Danforth and his wife, Marie, Jennifer Chubbuck and her husband, Todd, Andrew Petrie and his wife, Katie Kuchman, and Theodore Petrie and his wife, Amy Keach; great-grandchildren, Julia, Ryan, and Ian; sisters, Theresa Olive, Donna and Yvette; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Monday, July 2, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3. She is survived by her husband, Frank of Newport and Tampa, Fla.; one son Sterling LeBlanc of Rockland; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Claudette) Boggs of Rockland; four grandchildren; three step-children, Richard Randall of Connecticut, Miss Francine Randall and Frank Randall both of Pittsfield; one brother, William Petrie of Georgia; six sisters, Mrs. Cleo Parady of Stratford, Conn., Mrs. Elaine O'Rose of Stratford, Conn., Mrs. Connie Shina of Orono, Mrs. Theresa Morin of Milford, Mrs. Donna Cook of Jay; three half-brothers, Sterling Shorette of Milford, Lawrence Petrie of Bradley, Clarence Petrie of Old Town; five half-sisters, Mrs. Alva Depres of Clinton, Mrs. Geraldine LaBlanc of Milford, Mrs. Olive Buck of Hampden, Mrs. Arline Daigle of Washburn, Mrs. Viola Carrigon of Kittery, several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Pittsfield. Friends may call at the Crosby Funeral Home, Newport, Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Newport in the spring.

Yvette Petrie: Yvette Petrie Fugiero, Mom, Nana, Franna, “Toddy” departed earthly life on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. Born in Bradley, Maine on April 30, 1928, she was a daughter of the late William and Rose Ouelette Petrie. Before her retirement she worked at Charter Arms of Shelton after many years of service. She was predeceased by her husband Clarence “Tootie” Fugiero, a daughter, Bonnie Tuozzoli and a grandson, Jamie Ruggiero. At age 88, Toddy said prayers and goodbyes to her many loved ones. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving daughters, Paulette “Queenie” Ruggiero and her husband Donald, Brenda J. Cobb, Rhonda Fugiero, a son-in-law, Richard M. Tuozzoli, four grandchildren, Tina M. Christensen and husband Eric, Richard P. Tuozzoli and wife Alicia Patel, Christopher Ruggiero, Lindsey M. Cioffi and partner Pedro Natal, five great-grandchildren, Sophia and Richard Tuozzoli, Daniel R. Barash, Janecia I. Natal and Thomas R. Christensen, three sisters, Olive Shorette Buck, Theresa Petrie Moran Laliberti and Donna Petrie Cook as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to meet directly in the Garden Mausoleum at St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. for a graveside service. There will be no calling hours. Charles William Petrie: The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Tuesday, 3 June 2003: Charles Petrie, U.S. Army Retired - Martinez, Ga. and Milford - Charles Petrie, husband of Mrs. Mildred Petrie, entered into rest on May 15, 2003, at his residence. He was born in Milford, the son of William and Rose (Willette) Petrie. Mr. Petrie was retired from the U.S. Army, and lived in the Martinez, Ga. area since 1969. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion Post 192. Survivors include his wife of Martinez; sons, Charles William and wife, Vickie Petrie II of Martinez and Steven James Petrie of Atlanta, Ga.; daughters, Echo Yvonne Byrd and Sharon Anne and husband, Dan Gregg, all of Augusta, Ga., Catherine Rose Petrie and Judy Madrie, both of Atlanta; brother, Clarence Petrie of Old Town; five sisters, Constance Shina of Old Town, Theresa Laliberte of Milford, Donna Cook of Jay, Olive Buck of Bradley, Yevette Fugerio of Old Town; six grandchildren, Zachary Petrie, Maria Petrie, Megan Petrie, Amanda Wright, Jennifer Wright and Julie Gregg. Funeral services were held in Martinez.

Shina. Milford - Constance Patricia Shina, 68, died peacefully,
in the presence of her family March 24, 2004, after a long illness. She
was born March 30, 1935, in Bradley, the youngest daughter of William and
Rose (Willete) Petrie. After her marriage in 1952, Connie followed her
husband, Clement Shina Sr. around the world as he served his country in
the U.S. Army, including posts in Texas, Nevada, California, New Jersey, Maine,
New York, Pennsylvania, Italy, and Germany. She was so supportive, that
Clement's commanding general once cited her service as honorable patriotic.
She served as a foster mother and later ran Happy Times Day Care Center with
Clement, after he retired. She loved camping, fishing and her boys.
She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving
in addition to her loving husband of 52 years, Clement, are three loving boys,
Theodore Shina and his wife, Margaret, of West Old Town, Clement Shina
Jr. and his wife, Muriel, of Milford, Wallace Shina and his wife, Ava,
of West Enfield; six granddaughters, Missy, Mindy, Jessica, Rochelle,
Heather, and Renee; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Olive,
Theresa, Gerry, Toddy, and Donna; and a brother Clarence; 16 other
siblings passed away before Connie. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Sunday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, Old Towm, where members of the VFW Ladies
Auxiliary will conduct a chapel service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian
burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Parish with the Rev.
Normand Richard, celebrant. Interment will be later in the spring at St.
Joseph Cemetery, Old Town.
