Obituary:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Tuesday, 31 March 1953:  William J. Petrie - Milford, March 30 - William J. Petrie, 68, resident of Milford for the past 18 years, died suddenly at his home on Sandy Point road Sunday night after a long period of ill health.  Mr. Petrie was born in Chatham, N.B. August 8, 1884 the son of Stephen and Margaret (Perry) Petrie.  He was an active member of Old Town Grange and of St. Ann's parish, Bradley.  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rose (Oullette) Petrie of Milford; 10 daughters, Mrs. Rosella Thibault, Old Town, Mrs. Viola Carrigan, Portsmouth, N.H., Mrs. Arline Daigle, Portage Lake, Mrs. Cleo Parady, Mrs. Elaine Tesla and Mrs. Yvette Fugerio all of Bridgeport, Conn., Mrs. Loretta LeBlanc, Old Town, Mrs. Theresa Moran, Milford, Mrs. Donna Cook and Mrs. Constance Shina both of Old Town; four sons, Albert of Lewiston; Clarence, of Old Town; Lawrence, of Bradley and William Jr. of Old Town; 19 grandchildren; one brother, Charles Ernest Petrie of Bradley; and one sister, Mrs. Mamie Stewart of Van Buren; also nieces and nephews.  Remains are at the Baillargeon funeral home, 109 Middle street where friends may call.  Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Ann's Catholic church, Bradley.

The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Tuesday, 24 November 1959:  Mrs. William Petrie - Bradley, Nov. 23 - Mrs. Rose Mary Petrie, 68, widow of William Petrie, died Monday afternoon at her home in Bradley after a long illness.  Mrs. Petrie was born in Bradley, the daughter of Cephus and Mary (Marquis) Ouellette.  She was a member of St. Ann's Church and the Ladies of St. Ann Sodality in Bradley.  She is survived by two sons, Sterling Shorette, Old Town; and William Petrie, who is serving with the U.S. Army in Stuttgart, Germany; also 11 daughters, Mrs. Urban Despres, Clinton, Mrs. Eugene Marquis and Mrs. Woodrow Libby, both of Bradley, Mrs. Joseph LeBlanc and Mrs. Bernard LeBlanc both of Old Town, Mrs. Maurice Parady and Mrs. Edmund Tesla, both of Stratford, Conn., Mrs. Clarence Fugerio, Bridgeport, Conn., Mrs. Gilbert Cook, Augusta, Mrs. Clement Shina, New Jersey, and Mrs. Frank Moran, Milford.  She is also survived by three step-daughters, Mrs. George Thibault, Old Town, Mrs. Philip Corrigan, Kittery, and Mrs. Arline Daigle, Washburn; three step-sons, Lawrence Petrie, Bradley, Clarence Petrie, Old Town, and Albert Petrie, Bell, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Charles Petrie, Bradley; three brothers, Jefferson, Forest and Samuel Ouellette, all of Bradley; also 34 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Remains are at the Baillargeon Funeral Home, 109 Middle Street, Old Town, and funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Bradley.

Petrie - Milo, March 30 - Edward Franklin Petrie, 43, died today in a local hospital following injuries received in Derby.  Petrie had been employed by the Bangor and Aroostook railroad for the past years, coming to Milo from Old Town.  He was born in Ashland, April 1, 1905, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Petrie.  He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic church in Derby.  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Corrine Petrie, three sons, Roger, Ronald and Edward, Jr.; three daughters, Cleo, Beatrice and Linda; his parents, who reside in Old Town; three sisters, Mrs. Rosella Thibodeau of Old Town; Mrs. Viola Corrigan of Lewiston, and Mrs. Beatrice Daigle of Eagle Lake; three brothers, Albert of Lisbon; Lawrence of Bradley and Clarence of Old Town; seven half-sisters, Cleo, Loretta, Elaine, Eva, Theresa, Donna and Connie, and a half-brother, William, all of Old Town.  A high mass of requiem will be celebrated at St. Paul's church Friday at nine a.m.  Burial will be in Milo cemetery.

Thibault, 59, died Wednesday in a Bangor hospital following a long illness.  She was a resident of 16 Highland Avenue, Old Town.  Born in Sheridan, March 25, 1907, she was the daughter of the late William and Eva (Cote) Petrie.  She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Old Town.  Surviving are her husband, George A, Thibault of Old Town; two brothers, Lawrence Petrie of Bradley and Clarence Petrie of Old Town; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Carrignan of Kittery and Mrs. Beatrice Arlene Daigle of Washburn; one half-brother, William Petrie of the U. S. Lawrence Petrie:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Friday, 21 March 1986:  Lawrence 'Jobie' Petrie.  Bradley - Lawrence 'Jobie' Petrie, 72, died March 19, 1986, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness.  He was born in Sheridan, July 15, 1913, the son of William and Eva (Cote) Petrie.  He was employed for 45 years by Diamond International of Old Town and served 21 years as constable for the town of Bradley.  Mr. Petrie also served many years as a reserve for the Old Town police department and was a communicant of St. Ann's Catholic Church of Bradley.  He is survived by his wife, Rita (Thibault) Petrie of Bradley; three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Evelyn Petrie, Richard and Lanette Petrie, all of Bradley, and James and Sherri Petrie of Pensacola, Fla.; one daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Lee Wood of Bradley; one sister, Arlene Daigle of Caribou; one brother, Clarence Petrie of Old Town; six half-sisters, Cleo Parady, Elaine O'Rose, Yvette Fegera, all of Connecticut, Theresa Laliberte of Milford, Donna Cook of Jay, Connie Shina of Orono; one half-brother, William Petrie of Georgia; two step-sisters, Alva Dupres of Clinton and Olive Buck of Hampden; one step-brother, Sterling Shorette of Milford; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Bradley, with the Rev. Charles William Petrie:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Tuesday, 3 June 2003:  Charles Petrie, U.S. Army Retired - Martinez, Ga. and Milford - Charles Petrie, husband of Mrs. Mildred Petrie, entered into rest on May 15, 2003, at his residence.  He was born in Milford, the son of William and Rose (Willette) Petrie.  Mr. Petrie was retired from the U.S. Army, and lived in the Martinez, Ga. area since 1969.  He was a member of the VFW and American Legion Post 192.  Survivors include his wife of Martinez; sons, Charles William and wife, Vickie Petrie II of Martinez and Steven James Petrie of Atlanta, Ga.; daughters, Echo Yvonne Byrd and Sharon Anne and husband, Dan Gregg, all of Augusta, Ga., Catherine Rose Petrie and Judy Madrie, both of Atlanta; brother, Clarence Petrie of Old Town; five sisters, Constance Shina of Old Town, Theresa Laliberte of Milford, Donna Cook of Jay, Olive Buck of Bradley, Yevette Fugerio of Old Town; six grandchildren, Zachary Petrie, Maria Petrie, Megan Petrie, Amanda Wright, Jennifer Wright and Julie Gregg.  Funeral services were held in Martinez.

 

Clarence Petrie:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Saturday, 30 June 2007:  (photo) Clarence L. 'Pete' Petrie - Old Town and Milford - Clarence L. 'Pete' Petrie, 91, passed away June 29, 2007, at Orono Commons Nursing Home.  He was born Dec. 11, 1915, in Ashland, the son of William and Eva (Cote) Petrie.  Pete worked for many years as a shoe cutter at the shoe shop in Old Town and then he worked for Lily Tulip.  During his retirement, he painted many houses in the area.  He loved music.  Pete played in the band Green Valley Boys and in the Community Band.  His expertise was the banjo, fiddle and bass, and he adopted the nickname 'Picky' from his talents.  Pete just generally loved being around people.  He was fun loving and like to keep busy.  Pete also enjoyed gardening.  He was predeceased by his wife, Glenys (Cates) Petrie; parents; and 17 siblings.  Pete is survived by his daughter, Susan Danforth and her husband, Fred, of Milford; son, Wayne Petrie and his wife, Meredith, of Connecticut; grandchildren, Peter Danforth and his wife, Marie, Jennifer Chubbuck and her husband, Todd, Andrew Petrie and his wife, Katie Kuchman, and Theodore Petrie and his wife, Amy Keach; great-grandchildren, Julia, Ryan, and Ian; sisters, Theresa Olive, Donna and Yvette; many nieces and nephews.  Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Monday, July 2, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3.  Interment will be after at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town.  Family and friends are invited to continued fellowship and refreshments after services at Holy Family Parish Hall, Old Town.  Pete's family extends their gratitude to the staff of Orono Commons for the excellent care and heartfelt compassion they provided.  Memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.

 

Beatrice Arlene Petrie:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Monday, 22 October 1990:  Beatrice A. Daigle.  Caribou and Washburn:  Beatrice A. Daigle, 72, beloved wife of the late Alfred Daigle, died Oct. 20, 1990, at a Caribou hospital.  She was born in Sheridan, March 3, 1918, the daughter of William and Eva (Cote) Petrie.  A resident of Washburn for many years, she was employed at the Tater State Processing Plant there for 28 years, retiring in 1981 when she moved to Caribou.  She was a member of the Holy Rosary Church in Caribou.  Surviving are one son, Roger and his wife, Emily, of Washburn; one daughter, Mrs. Hampton (Theresa) Jackson of Caribou; one brother, Clarence Petrie of Old Town; six grandchildren, Roger Daigle Jr. of Washburn, Scott and Richard Daigle of Mechanic Falls, Hampton, Craig and Jennifer Jackson of Caribou.  She was predeceased by one son, Raymond.  Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, Caribou.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Washburn, with the Rev. Charles William Petrie:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Tuesday, 3 June 2003:  Charles Petrie, U.S. Army Retired - Martinez, Ga. and Milford - Charles Petrie, husband of Mrs. Mildred Petrie, entered into rest on May 15, 2003, at his residence.  He was born in Milford, the son of William and Rose (Willette) Petrie.  Mr. Petrie was retired from the U.S. Army, and lived in the Martinez, Ga. area since 1969.  He was a member of the VFW and American Legion Post 192.  Survivors include his wife of Martinez; sons, Charles William and wife, Vickie Petrie II of Martinez and Steven James Petrie of Atlanta, Ga.; daughters, Echo Yvonne Byrd and Sharon Anne and husband, Dan Gregg, all of Augusta, Ga., Catherine Rose Petrie and Judy Madrie, both of Atlanta; brother, Clarence Petrie of Old Town; five sisters, Constance Shina of Old Town, Theresa Laliberte of Milford, Donna Cook of Jay, Olive Buck of Bradley, Yevette Fugerio of Old Town; six grandchildren, Zachary Petrie, Maria Petrie, Megan Petrie, Amanda Wright, Jennifer Wright and Julie Gregg.  Funeral services were held in Martinez.

Constance Patricia Petrie:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Friday, 26 March 2004:  (photo) Constance Patricia Shina.  Milford - Constance Patricia Shina, 68, died peacefully, in the presence of her family March 24, 2004, after a long illness.  She was born March 30, 1935, in Bradley, the youngest daughter of William and Rose (Willete) Petrie.  After her marriage in 1952, Connie followed her husband, Clement Shina Sr. around the world as he served his country in the U.S. Army, including posts in Texas, Nevada, California, New Jersey, Maine, New York, Pennsylvania, Italy, and Germany.  She was so supportive, that Clement's commanding general once cited her service as honorable patriotic.  She served as a foster mother and later ran Happy Times Day Care Center with Clement, after he retired.  She loved camping, fishing and her boys.  She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ladies Auxiliary.  Surviving in addition to her loving husband of 52 years, Clement, are three loving boys, Theodore Shina and his wife, Margaret, of West Old Town, Clement Shina Jr. and his wife, Muriel, of Milford, Wallace Shina and his wife, Ava, of West Enfield; six granddaughters, Missy, Mindy, Jessica, Rochelle, Heather, and Renee; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Olive, Theresa, Gerry, Toddy, and Donna; and a brother Clarence; 16 other siblings passed away before Connie.  Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, Old Towm, where members of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a chapel service at 7:30 p.m.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Parish with the Rev. Normand Richard, celebrant.  Interment will be later in the spring at St. Joseph Cemetery, Old Town.
