Obituary: Bangor Daily Commercial (ME), Thursday, 25 October 1928: Stephen Petrie of Van Buren died in a Bangor hospital, where he was receiving treatment, Tuesday at the age of 69 years. The remains were brought to the undertaking rooms of Paul N. Baillargeon and later to the home of his son, William J. Petrie in Bradley, to await the time of the funeral. Besides his widow, Mr. Petrie is survived by two sons and one daughter, Charles Ernest Petrie and William J. Petrie of Bradley and Mrs. Mamie Steward of Van Buren. He also leaves to mourn his death two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Jones and Mrs. Mary J. Goggin of Orono, where the funeral will be held in St. Mary's Catholic church, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock.

Obituary: Bangor Daily Commercial (ME), Wednesday, 1 April 1931: Van Buren, April 1 - The death of Mrs. Margaret Petrie took place Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. J. Stewart of Cyr Avenue, following an illness of one month. Mrs. Petrie was born in Kingston, N.B., 73 years ago, the daughter of Charles and Margaret Perry. She was the widow of Stephen Petrie whose death occurred several years ago. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. W. J. Stewart, with whom she made her home and two sons, William and Ernest Petrie, both residents of Bradley. The funeral was held Wednesday, April 1st, at St. Mary's church, Orono, and interment was in the family lot in Orono.

August 8, 1884 the son of Stephen and Margaret (Perry) Petrie. He was an active member of Old Town Grange and of St. Ann's parish, Bradley. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rose (Oullette) Petrie of Milford; 10 daughters, Mrs. Rosella Thibault, Old Town, Mrs. Viola Carrigan, Portsmouth, N.H., Mrs. Arline Daigle, Portage Lake, Mrs. Cleo Parady, Mrs. Elaine Tesla and Mrs. Yvette Fugerio all of Bridgeport, Conn., Mrs. Loretta LeBlanc, Old Town, Mrs. Theresa Moran, Milford, Mrs. Donna Cook and Mrs. Constance Shina both of Old Town; four sons, Albert of Lewiston; Clarence, of Old Town; Lawrence, of Bradley and William Jr. of Old Town; 19 grandchildren; one brother, Charles Ernest Petrie of Bradley; and one sister, Mrs. Mamie Stewart of Van Buren; also nieces and nephews. Remains are at the Baillargeon funeral home, 109 Middle street where friends may call. Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Ann's Catholic church, Bradley.

Charles Ernest Petrie: The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Thursday, 21 January 1960: Charles Petrie, Former Bradley Selectman, Dies - Bradley, Jan. 20 - Charles Ernest Petrie, 71, of Bradley, long-time selectman here, died suddenly while visiting a store in Bradley Wednesday afternoon. A member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Bradley, he was employed by the Penobscot Chemical Fibre Company for 39 years until his retirement 14 months ago. He served as first selectman in Bradley for 13 years, and always interested in music, led the PCF band when it was active. Surviving are his wife, Josephine (Ouellette) Petrie of Bradley; two daughters, Miss Mildred Petrie and Mrs. William Soucy of Bradley; two sons, Robert and Delmont of Bradley; a sister, Mrs. William Stewart of Van Buren; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Remains are at the Baillargeon Funeral Home, 109 Middle Street, Old Town, where friends may call after 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Funeral services will be held 9 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Bradley.

Van Buren, Feb. 16 - Mrs. Mamie Stewart, 67, died Wednesday in a Boston, Mass. hospital after a long illness. She was born at Orono June 4, 1893, daughter of Stephen and Margaret (Perry) Petrie. She was a Gold Star Mother of the American Legion Auxiliary here, a member of the Society of the Ladies of St. Anne, the third order of Mary and the Daughters of Isabella. Mrs. Stewart is survived by her husband, William J. Stewart; two sons, Richard B. and John W., both of Van Buren; a daughter, Miss Sarah Mae Stewart, Van Buren. Funeral services will be held in St. Bruno's Catholic Church Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. The Rev. John J. Bouchard, S. M., will officiate at a Solemn High Mass of Requiem. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Bruno's Cemetery. Friends may call at Thibault's Funeral Home Friday from 10 to 10 o'clock.
