Obituary:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Saturday, 30 June 2007:  (photo) Clarence L. 'Pete' Petrie - Old Town and Milford - Clarence L. 'Pete' Petrie, 91, passed away June 29, 2007, at Orono Commons Nursing Home.  He was born Dec. 11, 1915, in Ashland, the son of William and Eva (Cote) Petrie.  Pete worked for many years as a shoe cutter at the shoe shop in Old Town and then he worked for Lily Tulip.  During his retirement, he painted many houses in the area.  He loved music.  Pete played in the band Green Valley Boys and in the Community Band.  His expertise was the banjo, fiddle and bass, and he adopted the nickname 'Picky' from his talents.  Pete just generally loved being around people.  He was fun loving and like to keep busy.  Pete also enjoyed gardening.  He was predeceased by his wife, Glenys (Cates) Petrie; parents; and 17 siblings.  Pete is survived by his daughter, Susan Danforth and her husband, Fred, of Milford; son, Wayne Petrie and his wife, Meredith, of Connecticut; grandchildren, Peter Danforth and his wife, Marie, Jennifer Chubbuck and her husband, Todd, Andrew Petrie and his wife, Katie Kuchman, and Theodore Petrie and his wife, Amy Keach; great-grandchildren, Julia, Ryan, and Ian; sisters, Theresa Olive, Donna and Yvette; many nieces and nephews.  Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Monday, July 2, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3.  Interment will be after at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town.  Family and friends are invited to continued fellowship and refreshments after services at Holy Family Parish Hall, Old Town.  Pete's family extends their gratitude to the staff of Orono Commons for the excellent care and heartfelt compassion they provided.  Memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
