Marriage Notice:  Watertown Re Union, Saturday, 16 February 1907:  A very pretty but quiet wedding occurred at the Church of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart at 8:30 Tuesday night when Miss Emma Marsh and Mr. Victor Lashomb were married.  The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father Royet.  Besides the immediate friends only a few attended the wedding.  Both the bride and groom are well known in this city and have many friends.  They will make their home at No. 56 1/2 Arsenal street.

Misc.:  Watertown Daily Times, Tuesday, 3 October 1922:  Council business - Damages to the extent of $200 are claimed by A.V. Lashomb of 877 Mill street in behalf of the son, Francis Lashomb, who was injured while swinging at the Lansing street playground on July 15, 1922.  The boy's knees and legs were lacerated, it is said, and the swing is alleged to have been in an unsafe condition.

Obituary:  Friday, 28 July 1967:  Former City Woman Dies - Mrs. Mabel E. Diefendorf Lashomb Farmer, 79, of Riverside, Calif., widow of Milton H. Farmer and formerly of Watertown, died Friday in the Palm Terrace Convalescent home, Riverside, after a long illness.  The funeral was Monday with burial in Crest Lawn cemetery, Riverside.  Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Maud L. Hickey, widow of Harold E. Hockey, Watertown; and Mrs. Louis (Florence) Maitland, St. Petersburg, Fla; a stepson, Harold C. Lashomb, Syracuse; and step-grandchildren.  Also surviving is a daughter-in-law, Major Mary C. Robertson Lashomb, in the army nurse corps, widow of Mrs. Farmer's only child, Donald A. Lashomb, who was killed in action in France, Jan. 15, 1945.  Mrs. Farmer was born in Antwerp, Nov. 6, 1887, a daughter of Orvis and Caroline Wallraff Diefendorf.  She was married first on Nov. 7, 1916 to Alfred Victor Lashomb.  He died March 21, 1938.  On July 3, 1949, she was married in the First Baptist church to Milton H. Farmer of Baywood, Calif., a native of Belleville.  They went to California to live after the marriage.  Mrs. Farmer was a member of the Gold Star Mothers.

Francis Alfred Lashomb:  The Kingston Whig Standard (Kingston, ONT), Thursday, 21 March 1946:  Francois A, LaShomb, Grindstone Island farmer, who had been ill for some time committed suicide by cutting his throat with a knife.

 

Harold Clinton Lashomb:  Watertown Daily Times (Watertown, NY), Friday, 1 June 1984:  Harold Lashomb, 71, of 259 Valley Drive, Syracuse, a Watertown native and former Potsdam resident, died Thursday evening at Community General Hospital, Syracuse, where he had been admitted May 19.  He had been in failing health the past year.  The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Frederick Brothers Funeral Home, Theresa, with Rev. Walter Giles, pastoral associate at Trinity Episcopal Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Theresa.  There will be no calling hours.  He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Mrs. Wilbur (Suzanne) Hodges, Rochester; and two sons, Herbert, Helmetta, N.J., and Dr. James Lashomb, East Windsor, N.J., a professor at Rutger's University, New Brunswick, N.J.  Born July 20, 1912 in Watertown, a son of Victor and Emma Marsh Lashomb, he was graduated from Watertown High School in 1931 and married Dorothy Kelsey, Theresa, Jan. 18, 1934.  The couple lived 30 years in Potsdam, moving to Syracuse in 1966.  Mr. Lashomb was a retired truck driver for the Ward Baking Company.  He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and was a charter member of the Potsdam Elks Club.

 

Donald Adrian Lashomb:  Syracuse Herald Journal (NY), Tuesday, 27 April 1948 - Watertown - The body of Corp. Donald A. Lashomb, 27, formerly of 877 Mill st., who was killed in action on Jan. 15, 1945, in France, will arrive here tomorrow afternoon on the 4:50 train from the U.S. Army's general distribution center in Schenectady.  Funeral services will be held from the Northern & Fox funeral home on Friday at 2 P.M. and at 2:30 from the St. Paul's Episcopal Church.  The Rev. John R. Bill, rector, will officiate.  Burial will take place at North Watertown Cemetery.  Full military honors will be accorded.  The casket will be flag draped.  A firing squad and bugler will fire the customary farewell salute and sound taps at the grave.  Corp. Lashomb, a tank gunner in the 14th Armored Division, was killed instantly in France when his command tank slipped over the shoulder of the road into a ditch and struck some land mines during the Battle of Hatten.  He was a native of this city.
