Obituary: Fitchburg Sentinel, Saturday, 7 May 1949: Gardner:
Pierre Pitre, 83, of 3 Coleman street, died at his home last night after a
long illness. He was born in Prince Edward Island, June 10, 1863, and had
resided here about a half century. He was a carpenter previous to his
retirement 10 years ago. He was a member of the Gardner local Carpenter’s
union and the Sacred Heart league. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.
George Gagne; two sons, Arthur and Maxime; seven grandchildren and 11
great-grand-children all of this city. The funeral will be Monday at 8
a.m. in Holy Rosary church with burial in Notre Dame cemetery. Calling
hours at the Bourgeois funeral home will be today and tomorrow from 2 to 5 and 7
to 10 o’clock.

Mrs. Mary Pitre, 81, wife of Pierre Pitre, of 3 Coleman street, who
died in the Henry Heywood Memorial hospital yesterday afternoon will be held
from the Bourgeois Funeral Home at 110 Nichols street Monday morning. A
requiem high mass will be celebrated in the Holy Rosary church at 9.
Visiting hours at the funeral home will be from 2 to 5 and from 7 to 10 today
and tomorrow. Burial will be in Notre Dame cemetery. Mrs. Pitre
was born in Prince Edward island, the daughter of Pierre and Agnes Pitre
and had lived in this city for nearly 50 years. She was a past president
of the St. Anne Sodality of the Holy Rosary church and a member of the Women’s
auxiliary of Ovila Case post, VFW. Survivors are her husband, two sons,
Maxime and Arthur, a daughter, Mrs. Cecile Gagne, all of Gardner,
seven grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Dominic Bernard of this city and a
brother, Maxime, in Prince Edward island.

Joseph Hercule 'Arthur' Pitre: Sunday Telegram (Worcester, MA), Sunday, 23 Mar 1975: Gardner - Arthur J. Peters, 84, of 174 Blanchard Place, died yesterday in Eastwood Pines Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Anna (Belliveau) Peters and the late Mary (Roy) Peters. He retired 10 years ago, after working many years at Fontain Bros. Co. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Church, the Golden Age Club, Hillside Gardens Assn., and was a past commander of a Veterans of Foreign Wars post. He was awarded the Purple Heart during his military service. He leaves four daughters, Loretta, wife of Peter Kruskowskas, Helen, wife of Leon Zlotnik, Doris, wife of Harold Patria, all of Gardner, and Mary Rose, wife of Dwight Howe of West Boylston; a sister, Mrs. Cecile Gagne of Gardner, 16 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada, son of Peter and Mary (Peters) Peters. A full military funeral service and Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow in Holy Rosary Church. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Lamoureux Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Holy Rosary Church.

Cecilia Agnes Pitre: Worcester Telegram (Worcester, MA), Friday, 26 February 1988: Gardner - Cecile A. (Pitre) Gagne, 89, of 3 Coleman St. died last night in Henry Heywood Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Gagne was a stitcher for many years at Custom Modern Upholstery Co. She later worked for 11 years at Walter Fernald School in Baldwinville, retiring about 23 years ago. During World War II, she did war-supply work at the former Heywood-Wakefield Co. Mrs. Gagne was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, its St. Anne's Sodality and its Friendly Neighbors. Her husband, George N. Gagne, died in 1952. She leaves two daughters, Claire Danisienka and Lorraine Wojtukiewicz, both of Gardner; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was born in New Bedford, daughter of Pierre and Mary (Pitre) Pitre, and lived here most of her life. The funeral will be held tomorrow from Lamoureux Funeral Home, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made instead to the Holy Rosary School Fund, or the Sacred Heart School Fund, both Gardner.
