Alice Pitre:   The Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Tuesday, 8 March 1938:  Oakdale, La., March 8 - Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Manuel, 64, of near Kinder, was held at 3:30 Monday afternoon at the Catholic church in Elton with Father Francis reading the last rites.  Mrs. Manuel died Sunday night after several weeks illness.  Surviving are two sons, Clarence and Nixon Manuel of Elton; two daughters, Dillion Fruge, and Idell Artego, of Elton; three brothers, Eulse Pitre, and Artelous Pitre, of Kinder, and Monse Pitre, of Lake Charles; three daughters, Mrs. Della Arville, Kinder, Mrs. Erese LaFleur, Kinder, and Mrs. Angeline Marcantel, Elton, fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Eulese Ulysse Pitre:  The Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Monday, 28 April 1947:  Oakdale, La., April 28 - Funeral services for Eulese Pitre, 72, of Elton were held at the Catholic church of Elton Saturday with the Rev. Francois officiating.  Interment was made in the Liberty Chano cemetery under the direction of Hargrove Funeral Home of Oakdale.  Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Doris Pitre of Elton; four sons, Elzie Pitre of Kinder; A.J. Pitre of Elton; M.J. Pitre of Welch; and Adras Pitre of Jennings; a daughter, Mrs. Frank Miller of Welch; two brothers, Marues Pitre of Lake Charles; and Artelus Pitre of Kinder; two sisters, Mrs. John Lafleur and Mrs. Valentine Arville, both of Kinder; and 15 grandchildren.

Artelus Pitre:  The Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Wednesday, 12 June 1968:  Artelus Pitre, 86, died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday in his home after a brief illness.  Funeral services were at 9 a.m. Monday from St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.  The Rev. John Maguire, assistant pastor, officiated.  Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery near Elton under the direction of Ardoin Funeral home of Kinder.  A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.  Pitre was a lifelong resident of the Kinder area.  He was a retired farmer.  Survivors, all from Kinder, are, two sons, Edwin and Mervin Pitre; three daughters, Mrs. Lucenia Langley, Mrs. Lucy Fontenot and Mrs. Gladys Ortego; one sister, Mrs. Angelina Marcantel; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Angelina Pitre:  The Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Wednesday, 26 March 1975:  Funeral services for Mrs. Angelina Marcantel, 91, were at 2 p.m., March 21, from St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.  Msgr. A. J. Robichaud, pastor, officiated.  Burial was in Liberty Cemetery near Elton under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.  Mrs. Marcantel died at 3 p.m. Thursday in Allen Parish Hospital.  She was a lifelong resident of the Elton-Kinder area.  She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ezeb Duplichan of Kinder; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Marius Pitre:  Kinder Progress (Kinder, LA), Thursday, 16 June 1960:  Mr. Marius Pitre, 73 of Kinder died in his home June 15, at 4:00 P.M.  He was Operator of the Ret Rice Mill.  He was ill for three weeks and died of a heart attack.  Survived are his wife, Mrs. Orelia Doise Pitre of Kinder, and one son, Finest Pitre of Kinder and one daughter, Mrs. Ed Miller of Lake Charles.  Also, one brother, Areteluis Pitre of Kinder, and one sister, Mrs. Bud Marcantel of Kinder.  He has 3 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  He's been a resident of Kinder since 1954, and lived in Lake Charles before he moved to Kinder.  Services will be held at St. Philip Neri Church in Kinder with Rev. A.J. Robichaud, Pastor, at 8:00 A.M. in Kinder.  Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery near Elton, Louisiana, under the direction of the Ardoin Funeral Home in Kinder.
