Obituary:  Kinder Progress (Kinder, LA), Thursday, 16 June 1960:  Mr. Marius Pitre, 73 of Kinder died in his home June 15, at 4:00 P.M.  He was Operator of the Ret Rice Mill.  He was ill for three weeks and died of a heart attack.  Survived are his wife, Mrs. Orelia Doise Pitre of Kinder, and one son, Finest Pitre of Kinder and one daughter, Mrs. Ed Miller of Lake Charles.  Also, one brother, Areteluis Pitre of Kinder, and one sister, Mrs. Bud Marcantel of Kinder.  He has 3 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  He's been a resident of Kinder since 1954, and lived in Lake Charles before he moved to Kinder.  Services will be held at St. Philip Neri Church in Kinder with Rev. A.J. Robichaud, Pastor, at 8:00 A.M. in Kinder.  Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery near Elton, Louisiana, under the direction of the Ardoin Funeral Home in Kinder.

Obituary:  The Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Tuesday, 18 June 1946:  Oakdale, La., June 18 - Funeral services for Mrs. Vena Langley Pitre, 55 years old, of Elton were held Saturday at the Catholic church there, with the Rev. Father Francis officiating.  Interment was in the Chano cemetery.  Surviving her are her husband, Mariouse Pitre of Lake Charles, three brothers, Abner Langley of Kinder, Maius Langley and Z. Langley, both of Elton; three sisters, Mrs. Elius Pitre and Mrs. Augusta Fruge, both of Elton; Mrs. Armon Mamneu of Welsh; and three grandchildren.

Obituaries for the children:

Finest Joseph Pitre:  Lake Charles American Press (Lake Charles, LA), Wednesday, 15 March 1967:  Kinder - Funeral services Finest J. Pitre, 57, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday from St. Philip Neri Catholic Church with the Rev. A.J. Robichaud, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery under direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.  A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today.  Mr. Pitre died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home, following a heart attack.  He was a lifelong resident of Kinder and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Kinder Council 2893, and a retired farmer and cattleman.  He was a member of the Allen Parish Cattlemen's Association and of the Woodmen of the World.  At the time of his death, he was serving on the committee board of the Allen Parish FHA, and was employed by the Louisiana Department of Safety.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Estelle O. Pitre; one son, Howard Pitre of Kinder; one daughter, Mrs. Ronald Johnson of Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Ed Miller of Lake Charles, and one grandchild.

 

Vida Pitre:  The Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Thursday, 26 April 1990:  Funeral services for Vida Pitre Miller, 76, was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the Pat Riley Funeral Home in Kinder.  Burial was held in the Liberty Cemetery near Kinder under the direction of the Pat Riley Funeral Home.  Ms. Miller was a native of Kinder, a former resident of Lake Charles who lived in Beaumont in the Hillebrandt Acres for eight years.  Survivors is her son, Bertney J. Ortego; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
