Obituary: Leader Observer (NY), Thursday, 6 August 1942 - Tancrede Pitre of Glendale, died July 30th in his 86th year. He was born in Canada and resided in Queens 40 years, He is served by three sons, Harry, Willie and Fred, and three daughters, Anna Ritter, Dora Miller and Nellie Woodward, Funeral was from N.F. Walker Funeral Home, 8734 80th street. Requiem mass was held at 11 o'clock. Interment Monday in Most Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Joseph Alphonse William Pitre: The Troy Record (NY), Saturday, 9 February 1963: Ex-Seaman drowns - Seaford - The body of a retired seaman was found yesterday floating in Seaman Creek. He had gone fishing Thursday and had not returned. Police said the victim, William Pitre, 68, apparently had drowned after his boat capsized.
