Obituary:  Evening Gazette (Worcester, MA), Saturday, 5 December 1936:  Nelson Peete.  Clinton, Dec. 5 - Nelson Page, 50, of 94 Boylston street was stricken by a heart attack while at work as a foreman at the Maverick Mills in East Boston last night and died suddenly, local police were informed.  Mr. Peete was born in this town and had lived here all his life and was well known as a foreman of the spinning department of the old Lancaster Mills for many years.  He had been working in East Boston for the past seven years.  During his youth Mr. Peete was also well known as a semi-pro baseball player.  He is survived by his wife, Albina, and by three sons, Harvey, a former amateur and professional lightweight boxer, and Arthur and Raymond.  Funeral services will be held in Holy Rosary Church where Mr. Peete was a member.

- Evening Gazette (Worcester, MA), Monday, 7 December 1936:  Nelson Peete.  Clinton, Dec. 7 - The funeral of Nelson Peete was held in his home, 64 Boylston street, this morning.  A requiem mass was celebrated in Our Lady of the Rosary Church by Rev. Charles Hackett.  Burial was in St. John's Cemetery in charge of Undertaker John Bobka.  The bearers were: Eli Dumas, Hubert Paquette, Edward Coogan, George McQuold, Albert Moisan and James Valerio.  Rev. Timothy Leary officiated at the grave.

Obituary:  Mrs. Albina (Moisan) Peete, 77, of 367 Water St., died yesterday (14 October 1962) at Clinton Hospital following a short illness.  She was the widow of Nelson Peete.  She was born in Canada, and lived in Clinton for the past 60 years.  She leaves three sons, Arthur and Harvey, both of Clinton, and Raymond of New York City; three sisters, Mrs. Yvonne Blette of Clinton, Mrs. Alice Herzog of Long Island, N.Y., and Mrs. Emma Valley of Bangor, Maine, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  The funeral will be from the Robert J. McNally Funeral Home Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. with a High Mass in St. John's Church at 9, with burial in St. John's Cemetery.  Calling hours at the funeral home are today and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Arthur Joseph Peete:  Arthur J. Peete, 60, of 5 Bristol Ave., died yesterday (16 April 1970) in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.  He was born here, a son of the late Nelson and Albina (Moisan) Peete.  He was employed as a press man at Ray-O-Vac Corp.  He leaves his widow, Mrs. Rita M. (DiRienzo) Peete; a son, Robert A. Peete of Lancaster; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Ann Whitehead and Mrs. Patricias Rathay, both of Clinton, and Mrs. Geneva Andrews of Berlin; two brothers, Raymond Peete of New York, N.Y., and Harvey Peete of Clinton, and six grandchildren.  The funeral will be held at 8:15 a.m. Monday from the Robert J. McNally Funeral Home, with High Mass at 9 in St. John's Church.  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster.  Calling hours at the funeral home are 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

 

Harvey Leo Peete:  Harvey L. Peete, 74, of 118 Beacon St., a former professional boxer, died Sunday night (5 May 1985) at Clinton Hospital after a lengthy illness.  His wife, Agnes T. (Gill) Peete, died in 1977.  A professional boxer from 1933-37, Mr. Peete represented the New England Lightweight Junior National Amateurs from 1928-34.  He retired in 1937 with an undefeated record.  He was employed at the Lyman State School for Boys for 15 years until his retirement 10 years ago.  Previous to that, he worked at the former Wickwire Spencer Co. of Clinton.  Mr. Peete was born in Clinton, a son of Nelson and Albina (Moisan) Peete.  He lived here all his life.  He is survived by a son, James L. Peete of Clinton; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was a member of the Massachusetts Board of Retired Persons and a life-long member of St. John's Church.  Funeral services will be held tomorrow from the Philbin Funeral Home, 176 Water St., followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St.  Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster.  Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
