Obituary:  The Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Thursday, 21 August 1958:  Kinder, La. - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today for Lizim Pitre, 73, who died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at his residence in Kinder.  Services will be held from the First Pentecostal church with Rev. B.L. Park officiating.  Burial will be in Green Oak cemetery under direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.  Survivors include his widow; four sons, Wilson of Kinder, George and Hardy of Lake Charles, and Wesley of Oberlin; two daughters, Mrs. Abraham Fontenot of Kings Farm and Mrs. Dempsey Fontenot of Lake Charles; one brother, Saul P. Pitre of Lake Charles; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Obituary:  The Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Wednesday, 31 January 1968:  Funeral services for Mrs. Caroline Pitre, 80, were at 3 p.m. Friday in the First United Pentecostal Church.  Rev. B.L. Clark officiated, assisted by Rev. T.E. Ewing, Rev. Muriel Ewing, Rev. M.D. Treece and Rev. Austin Langley.  Burial was in Green Oaks Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home in Kinder.  Mrs. Pitre died at 1:20 p.m. Thursday in a Lake Charles hospital.  She was a member of the Pentecostal church, she had lived in Kinder most of her life.  Survivors are four sons, Hardy Pitre of Lake Charles, Wesley Pitre of Oberlin, George Pitre of Reeves and Wilson Pitre of Kinder; two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Fontenot of Kinder and Mrs. Ester Fontenot of Lake Charles; 22 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

Wilson Joseph Pitre:  The Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Wednesday, 3 October 1973:  Funeral services for Wilson Pitre, 65, of Kinder were held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 1, in the Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Kinder.  Burial was in the Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin's Funeral Home.  Pitre died Saturday evening in the Allen Parish Hospital in Kinder.  A native of the Kinder area, he was employed by the city of Kinder.  Survivors include a son, Hebert Pitre of Kinder; three brothers, George Pitre of Reeves, Wesley Pitre of Oberlin, and Hardy Pitre of Lake Charles; and a sister, Mrs. Pearl Fontenot, of Kinder.

George Pitre:  Lake Charles American Press (Lake Charles, LA), Wednesday, 28 December 1983:  Reeves - Funeral services for George Pitre, 74, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, in Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church.  The Rev. Reginald Langley, pastor, assisted by the Rev. J.W. Wrinkle, will officiate.  Burial will be in Green Oaks Cemetery under direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.  Mr. Pitre died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in Allen Parish Hospital.  A native of Kinder and a 22-year resident of Reeves, he was a retired cabinetmaker.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lecian Pitre; one son, Sampson Pitre of Reeves; four daughters, Mrs. Georgia Holland of Topsy, Mrs. Gerline LeBrun of Booneville, Ark., and Mrs. Faye Whetstine and Mrs. Irma Elam, both of Reeves; two brothers, Hardy Pete of Lake Charles and Wesley Pitre of Oberlin; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Fontenot of Kinder, 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Wesley Pitre:  The Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Sunday, 31 October 1993:  Oberlin - Services for Wesley Pitre will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Ardoin's with the Rev. Albert Wayne Borel officiating.  Burial will be in Green Oak Cemetery.  Pitre, 82, of Oberlin died at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 1993, in Oakdale Community Hospital, Oakdale.  He was a retired painter and a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and Painters Local No. 783.  Survivors include his wife, Pearl L. Pitre of Oberlin; three sons, Morris J. Pitre of Oberlin, Charles Edward Pitre of Topsy and Robert Wayne Pitre of Lake Charles; two daughters, Donnel Muller of Boyce and Gerdie Pitre of Oberlin; one brother, Hardy Pitre of Indian Village; one sister, Pearl Fontenot of DeQuincy; 26 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.  Friends may call after 10 a.m. today and until time of services Monday in the funeral home.

 

Hardy Pitre:  The Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Thursday, 2 February 1995:  Funeral services for Kinder native Hardy Pete, 80, were held Jan. 30 at Indian Village Pentecostal Church.  The Revs. Gary Nixon, Terry Bushnell and Roger Pete officiated.  Burial was in Green Oak Cemetery.  Mr. Pete died Saturday, Jan. 28, 1995, in Lake Charles.  He had lived in Lake Charles most of his life.  He was an insulator and had retired from Cit-Con Refinery.  He was a member of Indian Village Pentecostal Church and the Pentecostal Campers.  Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Annabelle Pete; two sons, Roger Pete and Dale Pete, both of Lake Charles; three stepsons, Harold Guillory of Moss Bluff, Emmery and Tommy Guillory, both of Lake Charles; two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Nixon of Baton Rouge and Mrs. Rachel Crum of Simpson; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Fontenot of DeQuincy; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Marine Pearl PitreThe Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Thursday, 28 January 2010:  (photo) - Funeral service for Mrs. Pearl Fontenot, 91, were held Jan. 27, in Kingsfarm Pentecostal Church, Reverend A. A. Haymon officiated.  Burial followed in Green Oaks Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.  Mrs. Fontenot passed away on Jan. 25, 2010.  She was preceded in death by her parents Lezime and Caroline Pitre; husband, Dempsey Fontenot; one sister and four brothers.  She is survived by three sons, J. D. Fontenot and wife, Jean, of Deweyville, Tex., Steven Fontenot and wife, Carolyn, of Oberlin, and Hamon Fontenot and wife, Clara, of Kinder; three daughters, Shirley Grove and husband, Juggy, of DeQuincy, Camy Royer (late husband George) of DeQuincy, and Gaynell Neal and husband, Bob, of DeBerry, Tex.; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.  Pearl was a lifelong resident of Kinder as well as a lifelong member of The Pentecostal Church.  She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  She loved making gifts and crafts for all of her family.  She was hard to beat at the game of dominoes.  Everyone always wanted to have Mama's biscuits - she was a wonderful cook.  Her love will be greatly missed.
