Obituary:  The Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Thursday, 2 February 1995:  Funeral services for Kinder native Hardy Pete, 80, were held Jan. 30 at Indian Village Pentecostal Church.  The Revs. Gary Nixon, Terry Bushnell and Roger Pete officiated.  Burial was in Green Oak Cemetery.  Mr. Pete died Saturday, Jan. 28, 1995, in Lake Charles.  He had lived in Lake Charles most of his life.  He was an insulator and had retired from Cit-Con Refinery.  He was a member of Indian Village Pentecostal Church and the Pentecostal Campers.  Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Annabelle Pete; two sons, Roger Pete and Dale Pete, both of Lake Charles; three stepsons, Harold Guillory of Moss Bluff, Emmery and Tommy Guillory, both of Lake Charles; two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Nixon of Baton Rouge and Mrs. Rachel Crum of Simpson; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Fontenot of DeQuincy; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
