Obituary: Lake Charles American Press (Lake Charles, LA), Wednesday, 28 December 1983: Reeves - Funeral services for George Pitre, 74, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, in Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church. The Rev. Reginald Langley, pastor, assisted by the Rev. J.W. Wrinkle, will officiate. Burial will be in Green Oaks Cemetery under direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Mr. Pitre died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in Allen Parish Hospital. A native of Kinder and a 22-year resident of Reeves, he was a retired cabinetmaker. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lecian Pitre; one son, Sampson Pitre of Reeves; four daughters, Mrs. Georgia Holland of Topsy, Mrs. Gerline LeBrun of Booneville, Ark., and Mrs. Faye Whetstine and Mrs. Irma Elam, both of Reeves; two brothers, Hardy Pete of Lake Charles and Wesley Pitre of Oberlin; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Fontenot of Kinder, 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Obituary: Lake Charles American Press (Lake Charles, LA), 5 June 2009: Reeves - Funeral service for Mrs. Lecian Pitre, 88, will be held Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Indian Village Pentecostal Church in Kinder. Rev. Mid Burnett, Rev. Jimmy White, & Rev. Terry Bushnell will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery in Kinder under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Visitation will be held Friday in Indian Village Pentecostal Church from 11am-10pm and will continue Saturday at 9am until time of service. Mrs. Pitre was a resident of Reeves. She was a member of Bel Fire Tower Pentecostal Church, which she loved dearly. Her family was her love; she enjoyed taking care of and cooking for all. Mrs. Pitre lived life to the fullest and her family and many friends will miss her. She passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009 in her residence. Survivors include one son, Sampson Pitre & wife Lorena of Reeves; three daughters, Geri LeBrun of Booneville, AR, Georgia Holland of Reeves, Faye Whetstine of Reeves; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, & 6 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Pitre is preceded in death by her husband, George Pitre, daughter, Irma Jean Elam, & grandson, Darrell Elam.

The Revs Glenn Ducharme and Elroy Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Ardoin's Funeral Home. Visitation is from 8 am - 10 pm today, and from 10 am Friday. Mrs. Elam died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1993, in Reeves. A native of Kinder, she was a resident of Reeves. Survivors are her husband, one son, Scott Elam; one daughter, Mrs. Tammy Gary, one brother, Sammy Pitre, all of Reeves, three sisters, Mrs. Gerline LeBrun of Boonesville, Ark., Mrs. Georgia Holland of Bagley and Mrs. Faye Whetstine of Reeves, her mother, Mrs. Lecian Pitre of Reeves and four grandchildren. Memorials made be made to Creel Memorial Gardens, the family said.
Gerline Pitre: Times Record (Fort Smith, AR), 12 April 2015: Gerline LeBrun, 73, of Booneville was born Feb. 4, 1942, in Lake Charles, La., to George Pitre and Lecian (Sonnier) Pitre. She passed away April 10, 2015, in Booneville. Gerline worked for many years as a nurse at Oak Manor Nursing Home. She loved to work puzzles and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gerline was preceded in death by her husband, Victor LeBrun; one sister, Irma Elam; and her parents before mentioned. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Roberts Memorial Chapel in Booneville with burial following at Carolan Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home in Booneville. She is survived by three sons, Clay LeBrun and wife Susan, Robert LeBrun and wife Nancy and Victor LeBrun; one daughter, Mary Kimbrell and husband Kevin; one brother, Sammy Pitre; two sisters, Georgia Holland and Faye Whetstine; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. The family will visit with friends from 1:30-3:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
