Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 25 June 1944:  Joseph Adam Pitre, 61 years old, of Plaisance, died at his home Friday afternoon.  Funeral services have been held up pending the arrival of a son, Raoul, of the U.S. Army, stationed in California, but will be held in the Catholic church and cemetery with Lafond and Son funeral home in charge.  Surviving him are seven sons, Lamon, Emry, Lawrence, Edgar, Ryan and Gurvis Pitre of Opelousas and Raoul; two daughters, Mrs. Leonie Lafleur and Mrs. Edna Pitre, both of Opelousas; one sister, Miss Melvin Pitre and 16 grandchildren.

Damon Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 28 February 1971:  Funeral services for Damon A. Pitre, 66, of Opelousas, will be held at 2 p.m. today at St. Landry Catholic Church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Lafond and Son Funeral Home.  Pitre died at 7:30 p.m. Friday at his home on the Airport Road.  He had been in ill health for several years but his death was sudden.  He was a retired farmer and a member of the St. Landry Parish Cattlemen's Association.  Survivors are his widow, the former Louday Fontenot of Opelousas; two sons, Nolton and Carroll Pitre, both of Opelousas; four daughters, Mrs. Anthony Gallion of New Kennington, Pa., Mrs. Curley Richard of Franklin, Mrs. Felix Kerry of Opelousas and Mrs. Ashton Bellard of Eunice; six brothers, Edgar, Lawrence, Ryan, Raoul and Gervais Pitre, all of Plaisance, and Emery Pitre of Opelousas; two sisters, Mrs. Leonce Lafleur and Mrs. Edna Pitre, both of Ville Platte; and 15 grandchildren.

Marie Edna Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Friday, 17 April 1987:  Ville Platte - Funeral services for Mrs. Leonce Lafleur, the former Edna Pitre, 80, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church here with burial in Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.  Mrs. Lafleur, a resident of Ville Platte, died at 12:25 a.m. today in Humana Hospital of Ville Platte after a short illness.  Survivors include a son, Efford Michael Lafleur of Church Point; four daughters, Mrs. Ivan (Emma Lou) Lafleur of Ville Platte; Mrs. J.C. (Grace) Lavergne of Lawtell, Mrs. Ednus (Irona) Fontenot of Ville Platte, Mrs. Bert (Anna Ruth) Elkins of Scott; two brothers, Emery and Gervis Pitre, both of Opelousas; a sister, Mrs. Edna Pitre of Ville Platte; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte, which is in charge of arrangements.

Pitre, 83, were to be held at 2:30 p.m. today in St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas with burial in the church cemetery.  Mr. Pitre, a resident of Opelousas, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday in Opelousas General Hospital.  Survivors include a daughter, Marie Pitre Ardoin of Prairie Ronde; a brother, Gervis Pitre of Opelousas; a sister, Mrs. Verby Pitre of Ville Platte; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on North Main in Opelousas was in charge of arrangements.

Main St. of Opelousas.  Survivors include his wife, the former Lillian Ledoux of Plaisance; one son, Ronald Pitre of Opelousas; one daughter, Mrs. Delton (Patsy) Doucet of New Orleans; three brothers, Emery Pitre of Opelousas, Gervis and Lawrence Pitre, both of Plaisance; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Lafleur and Mrs. Berby Pitre, both of Ville Platte; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ryan Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Monday, 23 July 1973:  Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Andrews Church in Plaisance for Ryan Pitre, 61, who died July 22 at 11:40 p.m. in Lafayette Charity Hospital.  Father James Broussard will officiate.  Burial will be in the old Ville Platte cemetery under the direction of Sibille Funeral Home.  He is survived by four brothers, Emery Pitre of Opelousas, Lawrence, Edgar A. and Gurvis Pitre, all of Plaisance; two sisters, Mrs. Leonce Lafleur and Mrs. Verby Pitre of Ville Platte.
