Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Monday, 7 January 1991:  Funeral services for Mr. Emery P. Pitre, 83, were to be held at 2:30 p.m. today in St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas with burial in the church cemetery.  Mr. Pitre, a resident of Opelousas, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday in Opelousas General Hospital.  Survivors include a daughter, Marie Pitre Ardoin of Prairie Ronde; a brother, Gervis Pitre of Opelousas; a sister, Mrs. Verby Pitre of Ville Platte; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on North Main in Opelousas was in charge of arrangements.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Tuesday, 25 July 1961:  Funeral services were held at 8 a.m. Sunday for Mrs. Emery Pitre, 54, of Plaisance, the former Emlice Bordelon, who died suddenly of a heart attack at 2 p.m. Friday at her home.  Mrs. Pitre was a Daily World agent, having a mounted route in the Plaisance-Prairie Ronde section.  Her husband left home Friday noon to make the route for his wife.  When he returned later in the afternoon, he found Mrs. Pitre dead.  Services were held at the Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde.  Burial was in the St. Landry Catholic Church Cemetery here.  Mrs. Pitre is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Russell Ardoin of Ville Platte; her mother, Mrs. Alciebeade Bordelon of Plaisance; one sister, Mrs. Burgess Fontenot of Lake Charles; and three grandchildren.
