Joseph Francois Xavier Pitre: North Bay Nugget (North Bay, ONT), Saturday, 15 June 1963: Noelville - Requiem High Mass was offered at St. David Roman Catholic Church for Joseph Pitre who died at St. Joseph hospital Sudbury, following a short illness. He was 89 years of age. The body rested at the Funeral Co-operative Home in Sudbury and was afterward transported to rest at St. David parish hall in Noelville. Rev. Gerard Vachon officiated at the funeral service, while Mrs. Denis Monette playing the organ accompanied the men's Choir as they sang the funeral rites. Oscar Mayer was soloist. The deceased man was a member of the League of Sacred Heart and the Third Order of St. Frances, and he was escorted in church by members of both Congregation with the banners. The altar boys assisting the priest through the Ceremony were all grandsons of the deceased Jean Marie, Gilles, Gaston Maurice, Raymond, and Michel Pitre; Denis and Reynald Chartrand. The pallbearers, also grandsons, were: Reginald, Ernest, Gerald Pitre, Romeo Sauve, Herae, and Ernest Meilleur. Interment took place in the family plot in the Holy Angels Cemetery where Father Vachon recited the graveside prayers. The deceased man was born in 1874. In 1896 he married the late Amanda Carriere, who predeceased him two weeks ago. The Pitre family came to Noelville in 1917 and settled on a farm. Later, the couple retired to live in the village and two years ago they went to live at the Sudbury Pioneers Manor. The deceased was a devoted member of St. David Church and also a member of the Way of the Cross Association. Surviving are 11 children, six sons, Albert, of Detroit, Leon, Hector, Oscar and Romeo, of Noelville; and Alfred of Sturgeon Falls. Five daughters: (Annie) Mrs. Philias Paquette, of Azilda; (Germaine) Mrs. Alfred Potvin, and (Leonie) Mrs. Joseph Chartrand, of Noelville; (Dora) Mrs. Albeni Meilleur, of Azilda; and (Gracia) Mrs. Maxime Bouchard, of Minnow Lake. Also surviving are 67 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Dollard, of Timmins; Domine, of Sudbury; and Napoleon, of Hailbury; two sisters: Mrs. Josephine Nadon and Mrs. Alma Clement, both at Noelville.

Marguerite Alma Pitre: North Bay Nugget (North Bay, ONT), Monday, 4 June 1973: Noelville - Rev. Gerard Vachon conducted the funeral service at St. David Roman Catholic Church for Mrs. Moise Clement who died at Chelmsford. She was 96. The former Alma Pitre, she married the late Moise Clement in 1895 at Embrun. The couple farmed in the Noelville area from 1913 to 1968. Mrs. Clement is survived by one sister, Mrs. Xavier Nadon (Josephine); two daughters, Mrs. Alexena Taylor of Sudbury and Mrs. Dorsena Langlois of Hanmer; two sons, Joseph of Sudbury, and Leo of Noelville; 38 grandchildren and 80 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased. They were Richard Gauthier, Gerard Langlois, Andrew Dolaire, Roland and Claude Clement of Windsor and Claude Clement of Hanmer. Interment was at Holy Angels Cemetery with the Sudbury Co-operative Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pierre Napoleon Pitre: North Bay Nugget (North Bay, ONT), Thursday, 5 January 1967: Noelville - Rev. Gerard Vachon officiated at Requiem High Mass for Napoleon Pitre of Noelville at St. David Roman Catholic Church in Noelville. Mr. Pitre died at the Haileybury hospital following an illness of five years' duration. He was 86 and was a pioneer of the Noelville area. Pallbearers were: Roland Philion of Hanmer; Ronald St. Jean, Sudbury; Henri Guerin, Oscar Pitre, Claude Pitre and Rheaume Lachapelle all of Noelville. Interment took place at Holy Angels Cemetery. Born at Embrun, Ont., Mr. Pitre was educated there and his marriage to the former Marie Louise Hebert also took place at Embrun. His wife predeceased him 25 years ago. The couple took up residence at Noelville in 1905 and operated a farm for many years. Mr. Pitre is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ovide Lefreniere (Aurore), Mrs. Leopold Petre (Yvonne), Ange Aimee, all of Mattawa, and Lucille of Ottawa; and two sons, Roland of Mattawa and Lionel of Noelville. He was predeceased by a daughter and a son. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Moise Clement and Mrs. Josephine Nadon, Noelville, and one brother, Domina, at Sudbury. There are 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Gedeon Pitre: North Bay Nugget (North Bay, ONT), Saturday, 10 February 1962: Noelville -A well known former resident of Noelville, Gedeon Pitre died in St. Joseph Hospital at Blind River at the age of 78 recently. Requiem High Mass was celebrated at the Roman Catholic Church there. Mr. Pitre came to Noelville in 1915. He married the late Antonia Langlois, who predeceased him, and later married the late Florestine Langlois. After her death, he married, Mrs. Yvonne Giraux, who survives. Also surviving are, three daughters, (Jeannette) Mrs. Harry McDonald, Ottawa; (Alice) Mrs. Laurence Langlois, Blind River; and (Irene) Mrs. Noel Lafortune, also of Blind River; two sons, Gerard, Ottawa; and Fernand; four brothers, Adelard, Timmins; Napoleon, Haileybury; Joseph and Domina, Sudbury; and two sisters, both at Noelville, (Alma) Mrs. Moise Clement and (Josephine) Mrs. Xavier Nadon. Attending the funeral from Noelville were: Mr. and Mrs. Hector Pitre, Mr. Elger Pitre, Mrs. Hormedas Pitre, Mrs. Arthur Daoust and Mr. Domina Pitre.

Gerard Vachon conducted the funeral mass, Saturday for Domena Pitre who died in Sudbury Pioneer Hospital following a short illness. He was 87 years old. Pallbearers at the funeral service were all grandsons of the deceased. Interment was at the Holy Angels Roman Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Pitre was born in Emburn in 1886 where he married Clara Patenaude who predeceased him in 1950. The couple came to Noelville in 1916. He is survived by eight sons, Leopold of Ottawa, Emile of Val Caron, Henri of Sudbury, Zepher at Windsor, Adelard, Hormsdas, Fernand and Alvarez, all of Noelville; one daughter, Mrs. Leandre (Eliza) Rochon of Alban; 30 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Alma Clement and Mrs. Josephine Nadon, both of Noelville.

Christine Pitre: North Bay Nugget (North Bay, ONT), Wednesday, 30 January 1957: Noelville - Final tributes were paid by many friends and relatives who attended the funeral of Mrs. Zephir Lachapelle, Wednesday morning, January 23, at 10 o'clock at St. David's Roman Catholic Church. Rev. Jean Marie Leclair officiated at the Solemn Requiem Mass, assisted by Rev. Ovila Campeau of Alban and Rev. Fernand Forest, as deacon and sub-deacon. The choir of St. David's Church sang the mass with Oscar Mayer as soloist. He also sang "Le Cantique des Adieux." Rev. Sister Joseph Hector was at the organ. Interment was in St. David's Roman Catholic cemetery. Father Forest recited the prayers at the grave. She received the honors of the Congregation of the Ladies of Ste. Anne, of which she was a devoted member. Pallbearers were six sons, Leo, Aime, Rheaume, Roger, Hector and Gerard. She was born at Embrun in 1890, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Xavier Pitre. In 1910 the former Christina Pitre, married Zephir Lachapelle, also of Embrun. In 1918 they came to Noelville where they lived for the past 39 years. She was a member of St. David's Church and the Congregation of the Ladies of Ste. Anne. Her death occurred Sunday in St. Joseph's Hospital at Sudbury, after a long illness. The numerous floral tributes, mass cards and messages of sympathy received, showed the high esteem in which she and her family were held. She is survived by her husband and 13 children, nine sons and four daughters, Leo, Aime, Rheaume, Rosario and Leonie, all of Sudbury; Mrs. Onisse Seguin (Marie Ange), Welland; Henri Garson, Mrs. Urbain Roy (Alma), Noelville; Joseph, Gerard, Hector and Roger, Minnow Lake; Mrs. Rheal Demers (Jeanne), Riverside, Ontario. There are also 32 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers and two sisters, Gedeon Pitre, Blind River; Adelard Pitre, Timmins; Domina and Joseph Pitre, Noelville; Napoleon Pitre, Mattawa; (Alma) Mrs. Moise Clement and (Josephine) Mrs. Xavier Nadon, both of Noelville.
