Obituary: North Bay Nugget (North Bay, ONT), Saturday, 10 February 1962: Noelville -A well known former resident of Noelville, Gedeon Pitre died in St. Joseph Hospital at Blind River at the age of 78 recently. Requiem High Mass was celebrated at the Roman Catholic Church there. Mr. Pitre came to Noelville in 1915. He married the late Antonia Langlois, who predeceased him, and later married the late Florestine Langlois. After her death, he married, Mrs. Yvonne Giraux, who survives. Also surviving are, three daughters, (Jeannette) Mrs. Harry McDonald, Ottawa; (Alice) Mrs. Laurence Langlois, Blind River; and (Irene) Mrs. Noel Lafortune, also of Blind River; two sons, Gerard, Ottawa; and Fernand; four brothers, Adelard, Timmins; Napoleon, Haileybury; Joseph and Domina, Sudbury; and two sisters, both at Noelville, (Alma) Mrs. Moise Clement and (Josephine) Mrs. Xavier Nadon. Attending the funeral from Noelville were: Mr. and Mrs. Hector Pitre, Mr. Elger Pitre, Mrs. Hormedas Pitre, Mrs. Arthur Daoust and Mr. Domina Pitre.

Dear wife of the late Gideon Pitre and the late Gideon Giroux. Dear mother of Mrs. Irene Lafortune (husband Noel) of Blind River, the late Gerard Giroux (wife Monique) of Montreal, Fernand Pitre (wife Elaine) of Red Deer, Alberta and Alice Langlois (husband the late Lawrence) of Chelmford. Survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Jean-Paul, Eugene and Napoleon Prevost and Aurore Legault. Resting at the Menard Funeral Home in Blind River, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service to be held Saturday, March 15th, at 11 a.m. from Paroisse Ste. Famille. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Blind River. Donations to the Algoma Home for the Aged would be greatly appreciated.
