Obituaries for the children:

Augustine Peters:  Charlottetown Guardian (Charlottetown, PEI), 12 September 1963:  Many friends and relatives were deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Augustine Peters, after a brief illness.  Deceased was born at St. Charles, P.E.I., 68 years ago, the son of the late Stephen Peters and Catherine Gallant.  He was predeceased by his wife, the late Susan Gallant seven years ago.  Up until the death of his wife, he carried on a successful farming operation in conjunction with the fish packing business, of which at the time of his death, he held the position as plant foreman with Eastern Packing Company, Souris.  A position he had held since their first adventure in Souris back in the late thirties.  Possessed of a kindly and generous nature which endeared him to all with whom he came in contact.  A man of sterling character, his life in every way was governed by a strict adherence to strong principles of truth and honesty.  He had earned the respect and esteem of all acquainted with him and this was well attested by the large number of people who came to pay their last respects and attend the funeral.  On the 7th day of May, Guss Peters entered the Souris Hospital for treatment.  He was later transferred to Charlottetown Hospital.  After undergoing surgery he was sent home to convalesce with his daughter Mrs. Ray Peters, where he was visited by many of his working associates and friends and cared for tenderly by his sons and daughters who came from far and near to be with their father on his sick bed.  After two weeks at home, to returned to Charlottetown Hospital, where he was called to his Eternal reward.  Supported by the Last Rites of the Roman Catholic Church a loving husband and a kindly father has gone on before.  He will be deeply missed not only in his own home, but in community efforts, school and church affairs of which he was always ready and willing to support to the fullest for the common good.  He leaves to mourn seven daughters and three sons namely: Lily, Mrs. Lorne J. Peters, Souris West; Frances, Mrs. Adrian Peters, St. Charles; Pauline, Mrs. Daniel J. MacDonald, Bothwell; Mildred, Mrs. Walter MacDonald, Hamilton, Ont.; Alice, Mrs. George MacDonald, Hamilton, Ont.; Patricia, Mrs. Ray Peters, St. Charles; and Doreen, Hamilton, Ont.; sons, Herbert, Hamilton; Stephen, Hamilton; Louis, Cape Breton; one daughter predeceased him in 1946, age 14 months, Amelia Bernadette.  Also left are forty-three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Bert Goddard, Ohio; Mrs. Joseph Montgomery, Halifax; three brothers in St. Charles, Earl, Wilfred, and George.  The remains were conveyed from the Perry Funeral Home to his late residence from where the funeral was held on July 12 to St. Charles Church.  Requiem High Mass was celebrated by his pastor, Rev. Charles Gallant, who also conducted the service at the grave.  Present in the Sanctuary were Rev. W. D. MacDonald, St. Columbia, Rev. Fr. Keefe, Rollo Bay.  Eastern Packing Co., attended in a body.  Pall bearers were: Ray Peters, Adrian Peters, Lorne Peters, Frank Gallant, Ambrose Peters, Johnny Peters.  The funeral was conducted by the Perry Funeral Home.

Gertrude May Peters:  The Cincinnati Enquirer (Cincinnati, OH), Monday, 8 February 1999:  Goddard, Gertrude M. (nee Peters), 93, of Mason and formerly of Lebanon, Friday, February 5, 1999.  A longtime Lebanon resident, Mrs. Goddard was a member of Lebanon Garden Club and O.E.S. #343.  Preceded in death by her husband Bert Goddard in 1974, she is survived by three daughters, Dolores Gans of Winfield, B.C., Joan Pomerantz of Laurel, MD., Mitchell Landreth of West Chester, OH., and nine grandchildren, Karl Gans, Kathy (Gans) MacDonald, Michael, Danny, Steve, and David Pomerantz, Laurie (Pomerantz) Nichols, Jill (Landreth) Hawkins, and Karyn Landreth.  Also 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Earl Peters, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Visitation Tuesday, February 9, 1 to 2 P.M. woth funeral service at 2:00 P.M. at Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon.  Memorials requested to Radio Reading Services of Greater Cincinnati.
