#40-379: Madame Kerner, widow of George Kerner, claimed a tract of land, east bank of the Mississippi, on the German Coast, 2 arpents frontage X 40 arpents depth, and bounded upstream by Christian Jacob, and downstream by Jean Secheneder. Her husband purchased this tract of land from Christian Jacob in 1777, and she purchased it after his death at a judicial sale. It appeared to have been continually inhabited and cultivated for more than 10 consecutive years preceding 20th December 1803: Confirmed.
- 23 October 1804: Marie sold 2 arpents on the left bank (about 35 miles above N.O.) to her son-in-law Jean Schexnayder for $700.
- 1810 St. John census (east bank): Widow Kerner, males 1 <10, 2 (27-45); females 3 (11-16), 1 (17-26), 1 (45+), 10 slaves.
