Notes for Pierre Berthelot:
- Pierre Berthelot was born c1764 to French immigrant parents. They had left the Mobile area and settled along the Second German Coast (St. John parish). In 1784 he married Anna Barbe Kerner, the daughter of German immigrants.
- 18 July 1786: Pierre bought a 5-arpent farm (bounded below by Charles Pontife and above by Christian Charles Smith) for 900 piastres.
- 9 October 1792: Pierre sold to Jean Baptiste Perillou a 5-arpent tract for 90 piastres, and bought 2 slaves (Chester 30 and Paterna 29) from Marie Cecile Faite for 680 piastres.
- 23 August 1794: Pierre bought a 7-arpent farm located in the parish of Lafourche for 300 piastres from Simon Portier. He then sold to Francois Aysenne 2.5 arpents of that farm.
- 10 March 1795 he sold a slave (Jean Baptiste 35 of Banbara nation) to his brother Yves for 500 piastres.

Claim #58: Pierre Bertelotte claimed a tract of land, left bank Bayou La Fourche, in the county of La Fourche, containing 5 arpents and 3 toises in front, and 40 arpents in depth, and bounded upriver by Gerome Guerin, and downriver by Francois Arcenaux. The land was settled, by permission of the proper Spanish officer, prior to the 20th day of December, 1803, and that the same was actually inhabited and cultivated on that day.
