Cecilia Edith Peters:  Midland Daily News (Midland, MI), Saturday, 10 April 1993:  Cecilia E. Theut, 81, of Sanford, died Friday, April 9, 1993, at her residence.  She was born Feb. 4, 1912, in Detroit, where she was raised and educated.  The former Cecilia Peters married Walter W. Theut on June 11, 1929, in Detroit.  They lived in Rudyard prior to moving to Sanford in 1973.  Mrs. Theut was predeceased by her husband, Aug. 26, 1989.  She is survived by her sons, William (Barbara) Theut of Utica and Roy Theut of Sanford; her daughters, Donna (Leroy) Couch of Lakeworth, Fla., Joann Theut of Lakeworth, Fla. and Joyce (Donald) Rupp of Southfield; her brother-in-law, Jacob Theut of Washington, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 1993, from St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sanford.  The Ref. Father Frank Voris will be celebrant.  Interment will be in Rudyard Township Cemetery, Rudyard.  Friends may call at the Wilson Miller Funeral Home on Monday from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass.  Memorials may be offered to Hospice of Midland County.

 

Joseph Francis Peters:  Detroit Times (Detroit, MI), Monday, 7 February 1944:  A hit-run driver who struck him at Ten Mile road and Harper Sunday today caused the death of Joseph F. Peters, 29, 8129 E. Edwards, Center Line.  There were no witnesses to the accident, police said.  Peters' body was found by his wife, Viola, 25, shortly after she left a nearby lodge hall.
