Misc: In a delayed Registration of birth on 30th September 1946, Thomas's sister registers his birth as taking place on 1st November 1876 in South Tetagouche.  She states his name is Thomas J. Pitre, their parents Joseph P. Pitre & Helen Daigle are deceased.  She says she is Mrs. Helen Basque, 77 years old, she is at least 5 years older than her brother, and was present when he was born.

Joseph Philias Pitre:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Thursday, 15 April 1971:  Bathurst - The death of Philias T. Pitre of 1146 Bridge Street, occurred Wednesday at Chaleur General Hospital following an illness of about seven months.  He was 65.  Born in South Tetagouche, he was a son of the late Thomas and Mary (Guitard) Pitre and moved to Bathurst with his family at an early age.  Mr. Pitre was employed with the department of highways, Bridge Street.  Surviving are his wife, the former Clotilde Mainville of Caraquet; three sons, Ernest of California, Charles of La Macazo, Que. and Roger of Bathurst; seven daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Bouthillier (Simmonne) of Germany, Mrs. Cletus Babin (Jeannine) of Summerside, P.E.I., Mrs. Oscar Gallant (Patricia) of Moncton, Mrs. Lloyd Harrison (Lorraine) of Calgary, Mrs. Frank Despres (Juliette) of Chatham, Mrs. Douglas Boyd (Annette) of Ottawa and Mrs. Donald Theriault (Edna) of Bathurst; three brothers, Thomas, Arthur and Hector of Bathurst; five sisters, Mrs. Joseph Kealty (Freda) and Mrs. Alphonse Lanteigne (Hannah), both of Belledune, Mrs. Allie Mathews (Victorine) and Mrs. Celina Lavigne, both of Montreal and Mrs. Evangeline Mathews of Huron Bay, Ont., and 20 grandchildren.  Mr. Pitre will rest at Elhatton's funeral home from where the funeral will be held to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Friday at 4 p.m.  Entombment will be in the parish receiving vault, pending burial in the adjoining cemetery later this spring.

Joseph Thomas Pitre:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Saturday, 30 August 1975:  Bathurst - The death of Thomas Pitre, 450 Blossom Lane, occurred Thursday at Chaleur General Hospital after a month as a patient.  He was 62.  Born in Bathurst, he was a son of the late Thomas and Marie (Guitard) Pitre.  He was a lifelong resident of Bathurst.  He was a member of the maintenance staff at Chaleur General Hospital and at the former Hotel Dieu for a period of nine years and belonged to the Canadian Union of Public Employees local at the hospital.  Prior to taking up this employment he was a plastering contractor.  He was also a member of the parish committee at Our Lady of the Rosary Roman Catholic Church.  Surviving are his wife, the former Marie Robichaud; four sons, Alban, Toronto; Gilles, Moncton; Jean Guy and Daniel at home; two daughters, Lilianne, Toronto and Mrs. Danny Godin (Marguerite) Bathurst; a brother, Hector, Bathurst; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Lanteigne and Mrs. Joseph Kelty (Freda), both of Belledune and Mrs. Leonard Lavigne (Celina), Montreal and three grandchildren.  The body is resting at Elhatton's Funeral Home and funeral mass will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church followed by interment in the parish cemetery.

Hector Pitre:  The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Tuesday, 10 April 1984:  Bathurst - Hector T. Pitre, 61, of St. Anne, died Sunday at Chaleur General Hospital in Bathurst.  Born in South Tetagouche, he was a son of the late Thomas and Marie (Guitard) Pitre.  He was employed at Eddy Building Supplies for 35 years until his retirement.  He is survived by his wife, the former Evelyne Hache; four sons, Hector Jr. of Chatham, Stephen of St. Anne, Gary and Ronald, both at home; one daughter, Mrs. Adelard Chiasson (Janita) of St. Anne; three sisters, Anna Lanteigne and Mrs. Joseph Kelty (Alfreda) both of Belledune, and Helene Pitre, Montreal, and seven grandchildren.  The body is at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.  Funeral mass will be celebrated today at 4:00 p.m. from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Bathurst.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery later in the spring.
