Joseph Edmond Pitre: Saint John Times Globe (St. John, NB), Monday, 23 January 1967: J. Edmund Pitre, 51 Harrison Street, a carpenter, died Sunday at the Saint John General Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 67. Born in St. Theresa, Gloucester County, he was a son of the late Thomas and Mary (Boudreau) Pitre and has resided in Saint John for the past 12 years. He retired from active work as a carpenter in 1956, due to ill health. Surviving are: his wife, the former Viola Young; three sons, Gilbert, Montreal; Dennis and Raymond, both of Saint John; four daughters, Mrs. Harold Skeats, Lachine, Que.; Mrs. Bernard Fullerton, Montreal; Mrs. Bedford Watts, Saint John; and Miss Mary Jane, at home; three brothers, Amedee and Emanuel, both of Campbellton, and Hector, Toronto; four sisters, Mrs. Joseph DeGrace, Campbellton; Mrs. Priscella Tremblay and Miss Martha Pitre, both of Montreal; and Miss Alexina Pitre, Halifax; 16 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The body is resting at O'Neill's Funeral Home, from where the funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 8:45 o'clock to St. Peter's Church for high mass of requiem at 9. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
