Obituary: Saint John Times Globe (St. John, NB), Monday, 23 January 1967: J. Edmund Pitre, 51 Harrison Street, a carpenter, died Sunday at the Saint John General Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 67. Born in St. Theresa, Gloucester County, he was a son of the late Thomas and Mary (Boudreau) Pitre and has resided in Saint John for the past 12 years. He retired from active work as a carpenter in 1956, due to ill health. Surviving are: his wife, the former Viola Young; three sons, Gilbert, Montreal; Dennis and Raymond, both of Saint John; four daughters, Mrs. Harold Skeats, Lachine, Que.; Mrs. Bernard Fullerton, Montreal; Mrs. Bedford Watts, Saint John; and Miss Mary Jane, at home; three brothers, Amedee and Emanuel, both of Campbellton, and Hector, Toronto; four sisters, Mrs. Joseph DeGrace, Campbellton; Mrs. Priscella Tremblay and Miss Martha Pitre, both of Montreal; and Miss Alexina Pitre, Halifax; 16 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The body is resting at O'Neill's Funeral Home, from where the funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 8:45 o'clock to St. Peter's Church for high mass of requiem at 9. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Dennis Pitre: Saint John Times Globe (St. John, NB), Monday, 12 March 1979: Dennis Pitre, of 10 Polaris Court, husband of Eleanor (Carroll) Pitre, died at the Saint John General Hospital Sunday. Mr. Pitre was born in Campbellton, a son of Mrs. Viola (Young) St. Pierre and the late Edmund Pitre. He had resided in Saint John for the past 20 years. He had been employed by CN Express for many years and by the Pullman Kellogg Company of Point Lepreau for the past seven months. He was a member of the safety committee at Point Lepreau and the Sportsmans Club. Besides his wife, he is survived by his mother in Caraquet, one son, Dennis jr., at home, two brothers, Raymond of Saint John and Gilbert of Ontario, four sisters, (Jane), Mrs. Blaine Siddle and Mrs. Ann Simpson both of Saint John, (Dorothy), Mrs. Roy Watts of Sussex and Mrs. Betty Skeates, several nieces and nephews. The body is resting at Brenan's Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held Thursday at 8:45 a.m. to St. Pius X Church for funeral mass at 9 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday.

She was predeceased by three brothers. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home. The funeral will be held from St. Luke's Anglican Church on Tuesday with service at 11 a.m. to be followed by cremation in Brenan's Crematorium and interment in the Fernhill Cemetery. Visiting hours on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
