Marie Celeste Pitre: The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Sunday, 28 January 1951: Jeanerette, Jan. 28 - Funeral services for Mrs. Austin Trimble, 76, the former Celeste Pitre, who died in New Orleans Friday at 1 p.m. were held in St. John's Catholic church here Saturday at 3 p.m., Rev. Oscar J. Drapeau officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Mouret's funeral home. Mrs. Trimble is survived by her husband; one son, Howard M. Trimble of Sulphur; one brother, Eli Pitre of Jeanerette; and one granddaughter, Loraine Trimble of Jeanerette.

Joseph Elie Pitre: Beaumont Journal (TX), Friday, 6 September 1957: Orange - Eli Joseph Pitre, 72, of 503 North St., died at 3:30 a.m. Friday at his home. Mr. Pitre, a native of Jeanerette, La., lived in Orange 10 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a retired welder. Surviving are: One son, Joseph Pitre of Orange, and two grandchildren. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at the Claybar Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Joseph Berberich, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday at the church with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
